We make a list at the beginning of the year of things we want to improve around the house. We did very little in 2020, so we had a bigger list than normal for 2021. All the main jobs required bringing in outside services and/or involved contact with workmen, so naturally we were nervous about this due to the covid.
One job we did in April was put a new insert into our front door. We knew this could be achieved with very minimal contact and the company we hired to do this job turned out to be a super company to deal with. This is the before photo of our front door:
There was plastic on the top part of the door because it was Spring and the robins were determined to build a nest on the ledge above my door. I was equally determined that they didn't😉
The company that we dealt with is called Distinctive Glass Inserts and the owner's name is Grayson and a very pleasant man he was/is. He does business in a wide area of Southern Ontario.
We chose the Ashbourne insert. Not too fancy, but gives us plenty of privacy, while letting in a lot of light.
Here is what it looks like inside. And a closer up look at it.
We get a lot more light in our front hallway. It only took a couple of hours to change both pieces of glass. It wasn't too expensive and has made a lot of difference.

That is a lovely front door. Very light and modern. xx
That is lovely. We changed a misted panel in our patio door. Way cheaper than a whole new door!
Very well done.
An inviting front door. Looks lovely
Glad you had a pleasant experience with tradesmen so often it’s not and that just adds to the stress of it all
The insert is perfect for your door, and I can see that you would get way more light in your entry way.
God bless.
Absolutely beautiful door! Hugs,
Very nice!
