They're back.........

Those *loody Robin's are back and are wanting to nest on the window ledge above my front door.  So had to do something about it before they built a nest.

Hunted out my plastic and attached that.
It will be there until probably June, which really is annoying.  However being attacked every time I walk out the front door isn't a good option either.

There was bird muck all over the front porch, so had to swill (wash) that down as well, which drove hubby potty as his phone kept going off because of the alarm on the door bell while he was at work!!!

DIY around the house

We make a list at the beginning of the year of things we want to improve around the house.  We did very little in 2020, so we had a bigger list than normal for 2021.  All the main jobs required bringing in outside services and/or involved contact with workmen, so naturally we were nervous about this due to the covid.

One job we did in April was put a new insert into our front door.  We knew this could be achieved with very minimal contact and the company we hired to do this job turned out to be a super company to deal with.  This is the before photo of our front door:

There was plastic on the top part of the door because it was Spring and the robins were determined to build a nest on the ledge above my door.  I was equally determined that they didn'tšŸ˜‰

The company that we dealt with is called Distinctive Glass Inserts and the owner's name is Grayson and a very pleasant man he was/is. He does business in a wide area of Southern Ontario.

We chose the Ashbourne insert. Not too fancy, but gives us plenty of privacy, while letting in a lot of light.

Here is what it looks like inside.
And a closer up look at it.

We get a lot more light in our front hallway.  It only took a couple of hours to change both pieces of glass.  It wasn't too expensive and has made a lot of difference.

Lots of "front's"

We have a really lovely front porch. Gets the evening sun.

I am going to be sewing new covers for the cushions this week as something/one has chewed a big hole in one of them. (I will be showing more photos of the front porch in coming week, as we have to do a bit of work on it.)

We inherited a lovely screen door in front of our front door.
We have a bit of repair work to do on the door though on one of the bottom panels.

We have a lovely front hall as well.  Marigold takes pride of place in our front hall.  It doesn't show up well but it's a lovely crystal light as well.
Love how it shines on the wall.
The shelf was left by the prior owners.

The one post that is being "spammed" a lot at the moment is this one about paper clips for some reason?

Sharing a couple of photos.

Despite the fact that it is so humid at the moment, I picked up a Fall Wreath for the front door at Pier One today.  They had 20% off and I also had a $10 off coupon when you spend over a certain amount.
Dh also got the blinds up on the windows beside the door.  I am not as happy with these ones.  However due to the width of the windows, just over 9 inches, I was limited in what I could put there.  I am still waiting for the ones for the kitchen as they are the sheer ones that match the living room.
Here is an up to date photo of our Little Munchkin:
Her parents just had the basement carpeted on Thursday, as they have been renovating it all.  She was enjoying crawling around the open space without being told not to touch things!!

Finally I am back............

Was away longer than I intended but, have enjoyed the break.  It has been a busy couple of months, and It's hard to believe it's bee...
