There was another lady sitting at the table and as I was gone a LONG time waiting for the food, they got chatting. Turned out she was a retired nurse who now was a sale rep for a couple of fabric manufacturer's. So dh got all his "medical" issues sorted out and they were best buddies by the time I got sat down!!
She was telling us a funny story which I wanted to relate to you all, as if you don't sew this will make sense to you. She was standing next to a man outside a fabric booth. His wife was inside the booth purchasing fabric. He turned to this lady and said in all seriousness:
"They buy a yard of fabric, cut it all up into little pieces and then sew it all back together; why?"
When you think about it it is a puzzle isn't it?
Now I do think dh ended up being injured while at the show, due to a lot of ladies bumping into him with these:
Turns out they are dangerous little suckers and hurt when they hit you in the ankles!! And some of the ladies were women on a mission!!!
Would I take dh to one of these shows again, yes as he is a great guy to be with. Would he go again he said yes, he met some interesting people and as long as he has his mobile phone (with full internet service) he has plenty to keep him out of mischief in those quiet moments.

Those trolleys are useful but a pain at events like that.
Good for you DH, can't imagine mine would ever agree to go to a crafty event with me, he panics in crowds and would get all stroppy, no I have much more fun on my own at things like that, lol.
had a giggle at the fabric comment, makes sense! those mini carts look lethal!
Good for him. Rob would go along with me too, as he was very good at the Pet Expos despite the cement floors. Enjoy your Sunday, Gill. xx
A long time ago, my sister, who is the oldest said she didn't see any sense in buying fabric to cut up and put it back together for a quilt...specially when blankets are so cheap to buy. I refuse to really think about it! But then, blankets are not as pretty.
Funny thing, I have heard her complain about not having a quilt our mom made. Which I find so hard to believe...I think she must have forgotten. Or else she said enough stuff like the above statement till mom just figured she did not even like quilts!
You didn't tell us what you brought him from the lunch line. I bet it was tasty! He's a nice guy to go along and you must be sweet company. Happy Sunday!
I've been bumped by carts like that... not fun.
I'm impressed that you can get the guy to tag along to a "gal" event.
I think it's fantastic that your dh would indeed go to another show with you. You obviously took good care of him and enjoyed one another's company!
How fun that your husband goes with you happily. Mine would too. I giggled at the part about the fabric.
Blessings,
Betsy
I have always felt that way about quilting I may change my mind someday. I am feeling better, except for my bruised hiney.
I love these trollies, but I alway forget it at home lol as for the cutting it up and sewing it back again. Well it does look a little different when we are finished lol
This weekend I didn't want to go to Rom's guitar expo and he didn't want to go to my home show so we ended up not going to either...not a very productive weekend!
