Had to go downtown Toronto to take dh for his checkup on his eyes. Pleased to say everything was good, and he was in and out in 15 minutes. Only took two hours again to get there {{SIGH}}I am one of these people when I have been somewhere once, I am pretty good at remembering where to go. However I do tend to get a little stressed driving to new places especially in a major city. Wednesday was no exception, as after we left the hospital we headed to dd house, as it was "sort of" in the vicinity.
Unless you know Toronto this won't mean much, but we were at the Toronto Western Hospital on Bathurst and then we headed along Dundas East to pick up the 404/Don Valley Parkway, then the 401.
There are street cars/trams down there, I am terrified of those. I have no idea why, but I hate driving along the same road as those. Also we went through China Town and the hustle and bustle in that area is crazy. So suffice to say I wasn't a happy camper. However as soon as I got on the 404 and then onto Highway 401 I was a happy camper. Highway 401 is one of the busiest in Canada, but I don't have a problem driving on it in the Toronto area as I know it well enough. Same with Highway 400, no problem, I put my foot down and Betsy and me do 130 km and all is well. Stick me in the middle of the city where I haven't been and I am not happy.
Are you a confident driver? Also do you ask for directions or do you behave like a man and be too manly to ask someone? I of course will stop and ask for directions, dh won't!!!!
By the way is anyone having the same problem as me with Blogger. A lot of SPAM posts are coming through on my regular comments and not in the spam file? Luckily I moderate all comments otherwise you'd have to plow through tons of spam to read any comments...........it's bloody well annoying.

I feel about like you with the driving...feel confident if I know the area....not so if I don't.
Oh, yes, I am all about asking for directions...Roger is not.
We take the scenic route quite often...admittedly lately it is on purpose. But used to be not always so.
And I have a friend whose husband is the same way....she said one time they ended up on this rough road in their car and only 4-wheel drive trucks, etc were on it.
It sounds like quite a journey!
I'm a confident driver and will happily ask for directions - hubby will too as he's always getting lost!
Oh you are brave I only take the subway and buses in Toronto and a lot of walking. I love the walking the best. Chinatown is a crazy place to drive, lots of people in and out.
I love Toronto but let my daughter do the crazy driving. Happy all went well with the appt. B
*Sigh* not a happy camper when I have to drive in the City; even Kitchener-Waterloo has changed so much since moving from there 9 yrs ago. Yes, I am happy you mentioned about the SPAM under the regular comments, as that has just started on mine the past week.
I hear you!! I HATE city driving!!! I only go into the city when I have to. No spam problems for me just tons of pop up junk and games. I have no idea where its coming from
I am glad you mentioned the spam. I also had lots of them coming into my regular messages and decided to go to comment moderation. That has helped tremendously as the spam was overflowing. The last couple of days - this after several weeks - has all of a sudden slowed down considerably.
We get lots of traffic around here even without rush hour, but I do try to avoid rush hour if at all possible. Once when I went along on a business trip with hubs, he surprised me with a smart phone with GPS. I have loved it ever since because it has taken the stress out of getting lost. Rarely happens when I need to drive somewhere new.
I added a Captcha Plugin to my blog and that helps keep the spams out. The one I use is an easy mathematical question.
I refuse to drive in Toronto...Chris does it all as he knows the area from working there.

No T.O. driving for me; gave that up about 10 yrs ago. It's the GO and public transit when I venture there. My own area is busy enough to drive and getting busier by the year.
No blogger spam here. All is well :)
I don't like driving somewhere I've never been, especially if it's in a big city. My DH is a terrible back seat driver and I try my best to keep all his doctor appointments as close to home as possible to avoid having to drive him long distances or places I haven't been to before.
You are braver than me. I won't even drive to Toronto, let alone through it.
Too bad about the spam. I've stopped using Blogger (for a few reasons). Hope it gets sorted out.
I'm a fairly confident driver, but I'm like you, I'm much happier on the highway than in the city! I haven't had any spam issues on my blog so far.
if I know the city i have no problem, I also prefer to use a GPS when driving in unfamiliar city
I don't drive!
I hate driving in an unfamiliar place, that's for sure. Glad the test results were positive!
