Decorating and photos........

Whose bright idea was it to start decorating when it's as humid as heck????  Below are the before photos.

Can you see the dust on the top of the chest of drawers?  The joys of repairing drywall.  The closed door is the closet.  I have painted that.  Dh just needs to put up the door frame and the baseboards in the closet, then I can finish painting in the closet.
Those step's are donkey's years old and are dropping to bits.  They were my mam and dad's, so must be 27 years or more old.  However I love them, and insist on using them when decorating.

I used over a full roll of masking tape, it took me longer to tape everything than it did to put the first coat of paint on the ceiling and walls.  I am having to prime everything first as I am not 100% sure what paint they have used previously.  Must say it looks suspiciously like a gloss finish.  So to be on the safe side I am priming it.  Took me less them 1 1/2 hours to prime the ceiling and the walls.  Due to the high humidity though I have a fan going in the bedroom to make sure it dries okay.

I am painting the walls a pale beige colour called Light Sugar; I used the same paint in our bedroom and I had a can and a half lef, so figured I may as well use that.

We picked up a new fan/light the other day, so dh has to install that, plus he needs to change over all the sockets and light switches to white ones.  I have to go out on Wednesday, so I want to pop into Solutions to see about the shelving for the closets.  We have used their system before and it is well built and is worth every penny.

We had a nasty storm on Monday afternoon and it battered my poor gladioli.  So I picked a few stems and brought them into the house.

I love this photo, the lemon and white is so pretty......click on it too enlarge it.

This red one is slightly different to the others, as it doesn't have a white tinge on it.
I love how the water drops are clinging to the pink petals.....

Gill, the flowers are gorgeous and the house is definitely going to be! Maybe it's like labor and delivery: You can't stand the pain and swear you'll never do it again, but when you have that beautiful baby in your arms the pain seems to go away --- almost.

Beautiful photos of the glads. Have fun painting. I'm going to be on a ladder painting tomorrow too. Sorry about having to deal with humidity. That must be awful. Love your ladder.

Your glads are lovely, I like the lemon yellow ones the best.
I alway find that the prep work takes longer than the actual painting, just think how nice everything will look when its all done.

My you definitely are a glutton for punishment. No stopping you once you get the bit between your teeth. Wish I had some of your get up and go. Mine's definitely went.

Those gladdies are fantastic.

So sorry the rain battered your flowers...but so happy you were able to salvage some and share your lovely pictures of them with us.

It's been very humid here too, but we just had a cold front go through and it's much better now.
