Signs of Fall.....

So far the weather has been glorious this Fall.  We finally had a couple of morning's last week when there was frost on the ground.  Fall is my favourite time of year.  Here are some photo's I took of the large tree in the garden and so other's in the park.

The other side of this tree is still green........

Do you enjoy the Fall weather and colours?

Fall 2021

Went for a walk yesterday and it's a lovely time of year with the fall colours and the cooler weather.  We haven't had much in the way of really cool weather and no frost as yet.  So I feel we are a little behind with everything changing colour.  Despite that there are fall colours to be seen here and there.

I don't know what type of bushes these are but they are pretty.

Red is my favourite colour, so I was drawn to them.

There were a couple of trees like this, green on one side and red on the other.  Very neat.
Around the park are these stunning yellow trees, again I don't know the species.
No children there as this was taken during the day.  That is sand on the ground in the park.
As you can see by the pond, it is full again, but there is very little change in the colours.
These staghorn bushes colours were stunning.
This has to be my favourite photo of the day, I just love  the colour intensity.
This smoke bush was in a neighbours garden, although not colourful, quite dramatic I thought?

Photos from the UK

Now none of these photos are anything special but all held some meaning for me and I'll explain why.

We travelled through the Yorkshire Dales one day and were reminded constantly how narrow the roads were.  This was one of many tight squeezes on the roads!!
This is so British I had to take a photo.  The iconic red post/mail box.  This was in Skipton in the market.
Oh those traffic cones.........miles and miles of them with never a workman in sight.........so familiar; nothing has changed in all these years!!

This the street our last house in the UK was on.  We are about a third of the way up the hill.  It's as steep as it looks and I made dh park at the bottom of the street.  I was out of puff by the time I walked up to our next door neighbours house.  Yes even after nearly 31 years they are still our next door neighbours.  And you know it was as though we had never been away, we were that comfortable with one another.  We have had many wonderful and some not so wonderful neighbours over the years but I have to say J was the best one ever and we do still write to one another even after all these years.....
No regrets moving to Canada though.  Canada is home and the UK is where we were born.

Appleby Lane, stock for the shop.......

As I mentioned yesterday I wanted to give you a preview of things I have made and will be selling.  I welcome any feedback; both negative and positive😉  One of the first things I will say is that I am going to offer a flat rate shipping for the month of June and July.  After those months I will revisit the situation and go from there.

Flat Rate Shipping:

Canada: $5 (non insured)
USA: $10 (non insured)
Rest of the World: $15
(there will be a couple of exceptions that includes the Knitting Totes and the Lined Totes, and other heavier items)

I am experimenting with trying to get better photos, so this will also be a work in progress.

Cork Credit/Business card holders. $10 each

They have a pocket in the front and one in the back and a larger pocket in the middle.  Would be handy to carry a couple of card, and some cash in the middle.  Good vegan alternative to leather.
Cork Key Fobs, larger size approx 4 1/2 inches in length $12 each. (Navy one is regular size, others slightly larger as one offs)
Cork Key Fob, Small $10 each (approx. 3 1/2 inches long)
Fabric Key Fobs $10 each, (approx 4 1/2 inches long) made with 100% cotton fabric interfaced with heavy duty interfacing.  Will stand up to every day wear and tear.  Make great teacher gifts.
Soup Bowl Cozies $15 per pair (sold by the pair).  Made with 100% cotton material, with 100% cotton batting and 100% cotton thread, so can be put in the microwave.  Fully washable, but I would let them air dry.  Fully reversible, as you can see by the photos.

Blue Birds and Yellow Flowers
 60's Vibe.
 Whales and Fishes
 Birds and Flowers
 Succulents
Some of these fabrics will be one offs, as I am digging into my stash.  If you want more of something, just ask and I will let you know if I can make more.

Payment will be PayPal and/or e-Transfer, something I am setting up, and know nothing about😊 Guess I had better get that figured out fast, eh!!

Finally to answer some of your questions.  The Facebook Store/Page will be called Appleby Lane, so put in Appleby Lane in your search.  I am not going the Etsy route until I see if I can sell anything.  I will be putting links on my front page of the blog directly to the Facebook Store when it is up and running.  There will also be an instagram page called #applebylane64 when dd sets that up as well.

(I will share more photos tomorrow of more of my stock)

Giggle Girls Jewelry............

At the show on Saturday there was one vendor who was a 4 year old's dream...............Giggle Girls Jewelry.

My photo's don't do these necklaces any justice, they are really, really cute and are well worth the money.
 They even had Christmas ones.
Nora finally chose an Elsa necklace after much consideration.  She was busy eating a candy cane when I took this photo.

We headed back to the vendor later on to purchase a necklace for Nitara for her birthday and all the Elsa necklaces had gone.   They were super busy and I am guessing they had a good day with many sales.

This is an oldie from my youth..........

So very, very, very excited......

Got to see Peppa Pig in real life on Saturday!!!  We were at the Holiday Market in Whitby on Saturday.

DD said I was like a whirlwind pushing all the children aside so I could get close to Peppa..........she was exaggerating.......sort of, well a little bit...........

I did let Nora get in on the photo, but I HAD to stand next too Peppa!!
There will be more photos from the show tomorrow.

Today's Christmas Song is one of my all time favourites:

They let us in AGAIN!!!

Yup, we are on vacation in the States.  This time in the state of Virginia.

We visited a Farmer's Market and as always it was very interesting.

One stall sold mushrooms.  The two bags at the back and the two bags at the front were Lion's Mane Mushrooms. There seems to be two spellings for that mushroom Mane and Maine.  They were selling for $10 USD a bag.  If I remember rightly she said they tasted like crab?  They have a website called Steve Haas Mushrooms.  Never saw Steve, just a lady.

There was a stall that just sold Orchids.  This one is a deciduous one and a rarer colour.  As I pointed out to dh, "this one drops it leaves on purpose, unlike mine!"  Mine drops it leaves through lack of attention!
Sunflowers are "happy" flowers don't you think?
More lovely flowers.
Didn't buy anything, but did enjoy the market and the lovely weather.

Peaches........

Over the weekend a dear friend dropped off some Ontario Peaches for me.  She got them from the Niagara region.  She goes down there from Bra...
