Say hello to Walter Henry........

I brought him home on Thursday afternoon and he spent most of the time in the closet. So the photo is the one from the shelter website, as he seems to be very camera shy at the moment!! Now you are probably wondering where I got the name from? It's from a Dolly Parton song, "Walter Henry Hagen." I have always loved that song, so thought it was appropriate.

I am hoping he'll be more comfortable around us in a couple of days. One thing I do need to do is brush him. I have to take him to the vet on Friday for a check up and a rabies shot. I think he'll fit in just fine around here. When we can get him out of the closet he seems very friendly enough, he obviously feels more comfortable in the closet though at the moment.

We finally got rain on Thursday which cooled things down a little finally. I bought another fan in Wal-Mart on the way to picking Walter Henry up, to put in the family room. I can see it being a long summer if this heat continues though!!

I spent another 3 hours on the lawn tractor Thursday morning and got a lot of the field done. It's been over two weeks since I last cut it, and because of that its taking longer than normal to cut. I hope to get the rest done today (Friday).

Quite a shock Michael Jackson dying. Also what a shame Farrah Fawcett dying as well. Used to love her in Charlie's Angels.

Hello Gill
And 'Hello Walter' - or will you call him Wally?
He's a nice looking cat and I'm glad you are letting him find his feet and not pushing him to come out of his hidey hole. As you say he feels secure there and will verture out in his own good time
Take care
Cathy

Hello Walter Henry. Do hope he is settling down now Gill. Reminds me of a rescue cat we took in a few years ago. She spent the whole of the first evening in a corner beside a tall cupboard, with her face to the wall. The next afternoon she ventured out and we soon became firm friends. A

Good morning Walter Henry. Just wait until you feels at home, I bet you won't need to have any mouse traps setting around , you'll be the little mouser. Hope you enjoy your new home. You look like a cat our one daughter has.

Hello Walter Henry, you look gorgeous. You remind me of my cat Thomas, same colours and that lovely circle of colour around your muzzle. I loved him to bits. Bet you'll be a good mouser too.
Oh heck, a rabies shot you poor little thing.

It was such a shame about Michael Jackson, he made such lovely records.

I love that name -- Walter Henry. It seems some cats like dark places where they feel safe, and being cats they won't come out until they are good and ready!

Walter Henry coming out of the closet...okay, I had to laugh at that one...he is a pretty boy, isn't he? How wonderful to bring home a rescued cat who isn't a kitten. I admire you no end! Yes, so sad about Farrah, Michael and Ed...it's always in threes, isn't it?
