Watery Wednesday......

Here are a couple more photos from Drayton Hall, South Carolina.

The pond was built specifically so that it would reflect the house.

By the pond was sitting this fella, it was a baby as it was only 2 or 3 feet long. Dh was yelling at me not to get too close, he's such a baby!!!! At least I saw this gator, which was more than I can say about the photo I took last week!!

For more Watery Wednesday photos, please click on the link. (as always click on the photo's for more detail)

What pretty shots. Love the gator - I'd love to see one up close, but they just don't have them in Ohio (and seeing them in the zoo doesn't count):(

Good grief! Was it a pet?

If it was I think it's just one upmanship! Certainly beats saying "there are fairies at the bottom of our garden."

Love that first photo, breath-taking. Gill, your decription of your dh regarding the 2nd photo, reminded me of my hubs! Yes, this week, I can see the 'gator.

Okay, I can't imagine walking out of my front door down to my own little pond and having to look out for alligators! Great shot!

now thats a scary shot, I'd be running as fast as one 61 yr old woman with a bad knee can run!

Aligators have been seen as far north as Cheraw SC, which is only a few miles from the NC line...love that you were able to get this shot!

That's awesome about the reflection. I would have been so busy taking pictures I would have tripped over the darn thing. Good thing for the warning..lol. That's G's job at the dirtbike races is to scout out good spots to take photos and to pull me out of the way if they wreck and are coming my way.

Lovely reflection of the house. But, what a great capture of the alligator. I could swear when I enlarged it (recommended) that he was smiling. He's almost cute. :)

Lovely photos! I like the gators. In Nebraska you can only see them at the zoo!

Hi Gill - lovely shot of the house reflected in the water. I think I'll just keep to frogs and newts in my pond though. Like Carletta I think the 'gator was smiling for the camera. What a poser! Or do you suppose he was thinking about a snack!
