Yesterday dd and I went to the Eaton Centre in Toronto. One reason was to use the gift certificate that the kids had got me for Mother's Day for a back massage. It was a seated massage and it was great and he made my sore shoulder feel so much better. The company's name was The Great American Backrub I had the 30 minute BACKRUB NIRVANA . It's just a shame all the locations are downtown Toronto.
One thing I wanted to do was take photos of the Christmas Windows at the Bay, but I forgot!!! However I took photos of the beautiful Christmas tree in the Mall. It was so sparkly, as it was covered with Swarovski Crystal's, it was stunning.
Now as we were passing through The Bay, we saw what looked like a tv, but its an electric fireplace, neat or what!!!!
Also did you know that there 27 kilometers of underground walkways in Toronto that link together shopping, services and entertainment. If you live downtown, you don't have to go outside you can get from A to Z along these underground Walkways. This is called P.A.T.H. I have never been "down there" before and its very pleasant. Dd worked down there for a while, so knows the area well.
(as always click on the photos to get more details)
Oh, and I almost forgot, Santa was walking through the mall, and he was lovely, we had a good old chit-chat, dd was just laughing at the pair of us chatting.

I love to see the Malls and shopping centres at this time of the year, all so beautifully decorated and especially the trees. Hope you told Santa exactly what you wanted for Christmas.

Hello Gill
Have been to Toronto several times and marvelled each time at the underground shops running one into the other.
Would be back in shot to see family and friends there if the cash situation would ease up - world markets and investments are not helping with our retirement plans. Seems we'll be holidyaing in Oz again next year:(
Take care
Cathy
Sounds like you had a good day.
Dear Gill ~~ A very interesting post ~ what a huge underground shopping place. The Christmas tree is lovely.
I am happy with the gazebo and tomorrow the table and chairs arrive.
picture following. Take care Gill,
Love, Merle.
That Swarovski Crystal Tree is lovely and the idea behind it. The whole shopping mall looks wonderful and the fact that Toronto has all those walkways underneath is amazing. Great in the wintertime. Thanks for all your lovely photographs and this great post.
Thanks for sharing - the tree looked adorable.
I'm a santa fan here too!
Love Leannecr
I love malls and I loved seeing the pictures. It looks like some wonderful place and the tree is fabulous. I am inspired to visit!
Sounds like you had a good day. I envy you the back rub - my shoulders are giving so much pain and surgery is not until the end of January!
Fancy you meeting Santa so early! You must have been a good girl this year :-)
The decorations and trees in the shoping centres look very attractive at this time of the year. There is an absolutely stunning tree at a nearby retail park but I did not have my camera with me when I was up there the other day. Will be back to take a photo.
we did have a good day, although the time went by too fast!!!
Gill
That tree certainly is lovely. Hope you told Santa you'd been very good!
I was at the Eaton Centre 2 weeks ago and there were no decorations yet. I have walked the PATH several times but the underground stores are open weekdays only. It still beats an outdoor walk on a cold day. Nice pictures.
You are brave!! I avoid the Eaton Centre any time of the year but particularly when we get close to Christmas!!!
The PATH is wonderful -- sometimes I think I live like a tunnel rat.
i love the path too.
what's up with the shoulder?? i'm having a shoulder problem too.
have ya ever seen one of those Upside down Hanging Christmas trees STUPID
Christmas in Toronto is one of the best times ever, for me anyway. I always loved the Eaton Center (umm Sears Center?)when it was all lit up and decorated. Yonge Street with all the window displays always put me in the Christmas mood.
I worked in a store on Yonge street when I was going to school and we always tried to make our windows the best on the block.
Thanks for the pictures!
