Bit crispy on the outside, but still soft on the inside.
That is how I felt after doing our errands on Thursday.
Met up with the lawyer to sign the paperwork for selling our house. We are only putting down a deposit on the new house as the condo corp., won't be registered until the 25th of the month. So we are "sort of renting" the house until then. It's all very standard stuff, but a bit annoying. Have to pop into their office on Monday when they have prepared a couple of cheques for us to hand over to the new house lot.
Got a bit of a surprise though, to discover that our lawyer is also the lawyer for the people buying our house. No one had bothered to tell us that. So the lawyer wasn't happy. On the plus side it may help us close a little faster......we hope.
We then had to deliver snow fences and posts to dh's boss' house. He lives on 50 acres, and most of it is wooded. I DID NOT get out of the car to help as I could see the mosquito's and between me and you they had been eating their spinach, as they were huge. Dh didn't spend too long unloading the stuff either when he saw them!!
Did our civic duty and voted. Our voting station is a good 20 minute drive from where we live......dead as a dormouse in that place, just walked straight in and voted. Funny as come Monday we are in a different county.
As you may or may not know it's The World Cup, for those of you who are not sporty, it soccer/football. Dh thinks he has died and gone to heaven for a month. He is a huge soccer/football fan and of course he is rooting for England. Me, well it's a bloody inconvenience as they have moved Coronation Street to 11am during the day {SIGH} Missed it on Thursday because I thought it started at 12:30 pm.
Anyhow, back to the soccer. Dh put on ESPN on the radio to listen to the Brazil vs Croatia game while we were driving around. I couldn't stop laughing as they had an Irish commentator with a thick Irish accent. I'm British so have a good handle on the accents from the British Isles, but even I was struggling to keep up with him. At one point I am sure he said something about "stopping the bus." I even said to dh what on earth is he talking about? Buses have nothing to do with soccer/football, do they?
Dh didn't find it as amusing as I did, but then I am not a huge fan of soccer or any sports come to think of it. We have the kids coming up on Saturday and dh has told me, if they are still here at 6pm when England is playing they either have to be quiet or go home......it's a serious business being an ardent soccer fan you know!!!
It's Friday the 13th today and I am going to embrace the day, rather than worry something bad could happen........hopefully I'll be back posting tomorrow!!
I am a British born, living in Canada since May of 1989. My blog is about all aspects of my daily life.

Are we too soon?
Dh took down the first of the snow fences yesterday. Not too sure if we should have, as we may get some snow later in the week this next week.
Meanwhile the snow back at the top of the driveway is melting.........albeit slowly. Still got my snow tires on the car, may leave them on until after Easter just to be on the safe side.

I was "talking" to a friend via Facebook in Oman and their temps will feel like 98 oF today. Too hot for me. What's the weather like in your neck of the woods this weekend?

No, I'm not going to rob a bank.........
I'm all wrapped up to go outside.
We got a pile of snow over night, so I had to blow out the snow on the driveway.
Looking out of the mud room door.
Looking on the back deck with the BBQ,. That image in the middle is a reflection on the glass.
My trusty snow blower. She's not big enough for our driveway, but is a whole lot better than nothing!!
Took me around 1 1/2 hours to clean it all out today. Will need to do it again as it's still snowing.
The snow fences are doing their jobs. The drifts are about 2 1/2 feet high.
Looking down the driveway. I couldn't have got out, as the drifts were so high at the bottom of the driveway. The snow plow has been past a couple of times, but luckily he didn't dump a pile there. Plus that bloody mail lady has no excuse not to deliver today, as she can reach the post box no problem!!
I am know knackered and I must have lost some weight??? I was soaked when I got finished. Will need to do it again this afternoon, though dh said he was finishing at 2pm (started at 5:30am), so he said he would do it.
Off to have a cup of tea and a peanut butter cookie!!

Birthday presents and are you a man or a woman?
Dd main present from us was a Sophie Conran vase to match all her other dinnerware she got as wedding gifts. Love her in her birthday tiara!!
Her brother got her this birthday card; notice the 7th hand written in!!
The kids were dears and put up the snow fences for us............another job off the list!
I "stole" this from here as I thought it was funny....... Carla was talking about this store on her blog. So are you a man or a woman when it comes to colours?

Another one bites the dust...............
Got a call from the pound and I decided to not adopt the bulldog we saw. The woman from the pound was very negative about him, and after listening to her for a while I stopped her talking and said "you are being very negative?" She explained that she didn't want anyone to be under any illusion what they would be taking on.
This bulldog had allergies (like we don't know anything about allergies in a dog!), and had just had an eye operation, so would need lotion put on his eye twice a day for the rest of his life. Then she thought he would need an operation on his knees and hips, despite the fact the vet had found NO problems with them. On and on it went. She figured he would need $250 spent on him per month.
She also said there were 17 other people wanting to adopt this dog, so I said fine let one of them adopt him. I feel so sorry for this poor bulldog if he only has this very negative woman advocating for him. So dh has said we should just forget about looking for another dog for a while, and I agree.
Pleased with myself as I managed to take down the snow fences one handed on Tuesday. Dh just has to take down the posts and put the snow fences away, they were too heavy for me. So I have decided there will be no more snow this season!!!!!

Gardening season and wedding dresses
granted we still have patches of snow on the ground, in places where the sun hasn't been hot enough to melt it, but gardening season is here. So I decided to take down the snow fences.....so of course that means we can't have anymore snow. The posts still have to be taken down, but I am not strong enough to do that.
I also started to do a bit of raking and have got a lot of piles of twigs and leaves from round by the willow tree to pick up, but to do that I need to get the tractor and trailer out. So are you prepared to hear me start and whine about the lawn tractor!!!! First let's hope I can get it started!!
I think the blasted voles and mice have eaten my daffodil bulbs by my hydrangea bushes which sucks. There are holes everywhere where I planted them. I do see the odd bulb popping up in my flower gardens though, so hopefully by the end of the month I will see some spring flowers.
We are going wedding dress shopping this morning. It should be pretty straight forward, as dd and her maid of honour were "regular" shopping a couple of weeks ago and stumbled upon this store and decided to pop in. She ended up trying a few dresses on then, and has basically made up her mind what she wants. She wants to try a couple more on just to make sure though. So this time she has an appointment. Her dad and I along with the bridesmaids are going. Mind you she is "late" ordering her dress as it takes six months to get her dress and another two months for alterations. No idea why it should take that length of time? If anyone is "into" wedding dresses maybe you could fill us all in. Otherwise I will ask the lady about it in the store today. For those of you in North America, I wonder if it will be a " Say Yes To The Dress," moment?
Will report back tomorrow about our experiences........

Snow fences, a very talented lady and a problem....
We finally got the last of the snow fence installed on Tuesday. It's actually technically not snow fence, as when you go to the store to buy snow fence it is generally orange or black, or wooden. We had this fence and the posts from the old house and we brought it with us. So figured we would use it this year to see if it prevented the snow from drifting as much on our driveway.
It has a rotten habit of drifting just as you come into the driveway and just up the driveway. We had a lucky escape on Tuesday night/Wednesday morning, as we have a pile of rain. Luckily it was still warm enough to come down as rain as otherwise we would have got a good six inches of snow if it had been colder!!!
If you have a moment pop over to Valerie's blog as she is such a talented lady, you should see her parchment craft and the gorgeous cards she makes. Here is a link to her blog. Look at Monday and Tuesday's posts.
I have run into a problem with my blog. The Picassa Web Album which Google uses is full, so I cannot upload any more photos on my blog. If I delete photos in the albums they are deleted from my blog as well? I could pay for more space, but I would rather not spend anymore money at the moment.
Any suggestions/ideas/tips?

Looking at those two photos, it looks as though the grass is covered with leaves. They are the tiny leaves from the willows and are impossible to mulch, so fingers crossed the wind will blow them away.
