Temperature cross stitch and catch up

Here is the latest update on the temperature cross stitch.  Last week was way above normal temperatures and other than on Sunday when it was cold and we had a sprinkle of snow, this week is looking warm as well.

Last week went by in a flash and honestly I don't feel I achieved a lot, other than booking our vacation.

This coming week isn't looking a lot better, as I have a busy week ahead of me.

Monday morning started out rough.  I HATE the time changes, it messes with my whole body clock.  Then when I went into the kitchen the fridge wasn't working.  I swore at that point and later on in the morning spent a delightful 45 minutes on the phone trying to get the warranty folk to sort it out.  Yes it's still under warranty, it's the circuit board that has gone again; despite the fact it was replaced just before Christmas.  The guy is coming out on Wednesday, but he won't do anything as he will have to order parts.  Meanwhile my fridge could turn off anytime, so I dare not put a lot in it.  Yes, it's bloody annoying 😡

I had to go to Walmart to the pharmacy as I thought I had "lost" 80 of hubby's pills.  I thought I was losing the plot on Friday.  Long story short they had shorted me 80 pills, as their inventory was over by 80.  I searched high and low for those bloody pills, as you begin to doubt yourself.

So here I am writing this on Monday lunchtime.  I will try and post through the week and more consistently.  I will also try and catch up with what is going on in your world.  But at this moment I just want to not do anything but read and relax as I feel stressed!!

Hope you have a relaxing week.

Another stage in life..........

We're entering another stage in our lives.  To be honest, we have been preparing for this for a number of years, but now we're on the final countdown to hubby retiring.

In fact we are around 325 days until his last day of work, give or take a week or two either side of the September 2024 expected retirement day.  The leaving date is not fixed in stone yet, and won't be until probably next April/May.  There are a number of factors in play with this, and it's mainly to do with banked hours and vacation pay.

One of hubby's co-workers retired last year in October and got paid through to the end of the year, as he had banked hours and vacation pay owing.  Both hubby and I think this is a good idea, and we may as well get health benefits until the end of the year.

That is something we have to look into, as I won't be 65 for another four years after hubby retires so I will have to pay for all medications out of our own pocket.  Hubby's will be covered; less $100 yearly payment, by the Government.

Looking at the graphic above, I feel we are the people not pictured there, there should be another person, between the far right one and the second to the far right.

One thing I think we all probably think about is how much time do we have left on this earth?  When doing a financial plan they plan it with an expected life expectancy of 90.  So I guess we are two thirds through our life expectancy.

Bit of an odd post, but something I was thinking about today.

Regarding, hubby's false tooth having a hole in it, we have no idea how it happened.  It cost hubby $250 though to have it replaced as he has used the $2,000 we can spend on dentists this year through our insurance.  Never have we ever used all the money allocated in a year for a dentist in all the years we have been in Canada.  Also, the dentist waived his fee.  The price at dentists has shot through the roof.  I hope that one day, the government will cover dental visits for seniors.

Nice n' Easy type of day.........

well this type of Nice n' Easy!!
With our big night out looming and with us mixing with all the "well-to-do's" figured I better make an effort!!!  There are a lot of high flying folks that attend this event.  One year I stood and talked to a CEO of something or other, and he went on and on about the bloody value of all the pieces and how he chose his pieces on how much money they would make him in the future.

Me; well I pick what I like regardless of how much money they are or will be!!  And to my mind that's the way it should be.

Back to the hair I have been writing and complaining about my hair I think from day one of this blog, or near enough.  Here is a post back in May of 2008 that has me whining on about my hair.  (sorry about the deleted photos on that old post) Fast forward to April 2015 and I am still whining on about my hair. {SIGH}

Finally updated my grocery total's for this month and I can see me going way over budget now {{SIGH}}  It's because of the over the counter meds I have bought this past week or so.  Just worked out I have spent over $60 on those.  Now granted some will last for a while, but others are already gone.  Oh well some months you win, some months you don't!!

This story started with a deceased chiropodist...........

My mother had to recently find a new chiropodist as her original one died in suspicious circumstances earlier in the summer.  The police wer...
