Question for you................

If I broke into your home and stole what was on top of your fridge what would I get to take home?

(other than jail time for breaking and entering!!!)

By the way, if you did it at our house, you would take away dust.....and I would thank you!!!😉

It could only happen to us!

I don't know why but some days I think we just attract the strangest type of people.  On our way down we stopped at a Cracker Barrel restaurant in Tennessee to have a bite to eat.  We were minding our own business and eating our lunch when one of the servers came up to dh and asked what was on his t-shirt.  Dh said it was from the World Cup.  After seeing the blank expression on her face I said Soccer.

This is the t-shirt:
She went on to say "she thought it was maybe something to do with the theory of evolution and how we are all descended from people in Africa and thought he was brave wearing that around here?"  At our blank expressions she moved on.  Honestly it is a t-shirt from the 2010 World Cup Soccer, nothing more, nothing less!!!

Today we planned our day so we would have lunch at the Old Mill Restaurant in Pigeon Forge.  It is a very popular place and serves great corn chowder and corn fritters.  I love them and was really looking forward to them.  We are seated and across the way are a group of four people.  The one guy facing me tells me I am wearing an unusual t-shirt.  This is it:
What pray tell is unusual about this t-shirt?  So I say a couple of words back to him and he continues the conversation about my bloody t-shirt.  In the end I jokingly said stop looking at my chest, but no he carried on.  He was with his wife and two other guys and were older than us.  One of the other guys managed to change the conversation, thank goodness, but they continued to chat away, even when we got our soup.  They finally shut up when their meal came.

Just after that our meal came and we had both ordered meatloaf with mashed potatoes and those bloody awful green beans.  What is it with everyone down here that they have to have green beans with everything?  Anyhow, we had just started eating our meal when the guy started to choke.  Then he vomited and coughed and coughed and coughed and vomited and vomited into his cloth napkin.

Now despite not looking you could hear what was going on.  Suffice to say not only did I not eat my green beans, but barely touched the rest of my meal.  I was so disappointed, as I was looking forward to this meal; but I just couldn't stomach it. It turns out the guy had a Hiatus Hernia.  Oh well what can you do?

We finally got some rain, so fingers crossed it will cool down some.  Here is a view from our cabin looking towards Pigeon Forge.

Garage Sale Day today.....and other bits and bobs..

So I spent Friday bringing things up from the basement and pricing things. Needless to say by Friday night I was aching all over. I then had to wander around the neighbourhood and put up signs on Friday night advertising it.

The pricing of things is difficult I find as what I think it might be worth, other people may not. I am charging $4 each for the Disney VHS movies or 3 for $10. The rest of the VHS movies are 50 cents each or 10 for $4. Music cd's I am charging $1 each, music tapes 50 cents each. LP's $2 each and singles $1 each. I have a lot of drinking glasses I am charging 25 cents each for those. All books I am going to charge 50 cents for in the hopes of getting rid of them. The list goes on and on.

I was a happy camper yesterday afternoon as I discovered my rhubarb poking its head through the soil. I thought the voles had eaten it, so I dug that up and put it in a bucket to take to the new house with us. I don't think I told you the other day, but there is a veggie plot up at the new house. Now the woman did say she did nothing with it last year, so I am hoping to rent a rototiller/rotovator for the day and that should sort that out, so it may not be as hard a job to start a veggie garden this year as I thought it would be.

Also have you seen this on You Tube, it's really funny!!!

November Grocery review and NINE WORDS WOMEN USE

Well I am closing out the month of November and must say although I said I wanted to stay under $300, with there being 5 Saturday's in the month of November that would have been super hard for me to do. I did manage to stay under $75 a week which in itself was an achievement, and ended up spending $371.77, with $133.03 in savings, which I am pleased about.

I am stocked up on coffee and paper towel. Don't need shower gel for the next 6 months either!!! Also stocked up on Tylenol for dh, although I will be taking advantage of that this month, as the expiry date is the middle of 2010, so will make sure I have enough until then. The freezers are pretty full, and as long as I am organized with my menu planning everything will be good.

I also got enough points from Shopper's Drug Mart that I can cash in for $200 worth of free product from their store, but I think I will leave those until next year.

There are only 4 Saturday's in the month of December, so I will budget $300 for this month, along with $100 in savings.

I got this email from Linda the other day, its so true!!! Pass this on to a man in your life!!!

(1) Fine: This is the word women use to end an argument when they are right and you need to shut up.

(2) Five Minutes: If she is getting dressed, this means a half an hour. Five minutes is only five minutes if you have just been given five more minutes to watch the game before helping around the house.

(3) Nothing: This is the calm before the storm. This means something, and you should be on your toes. Arguments that begin with nothing usually end in fine.

(4) Go Ahead: This is a dare, not permission. Don't Do It!

(5) Loud Sigh: This is actually a word, but is a non-verbal statement often misunderstood by men. A loud sigh means she thinks you are an idiot and wonders why she is wasting her time standing here and arguing with you about nothing. (Refer back to # 3 for the meaning of nothing.)

(6) That's Okay: This is one of the most dangerous statements a women can make to a man. That's okay means she wants to think long and hard before deciding how and when you will pay for your mistake.

(7) Thanks: A woman is thanking you, do not question, or faint. Just say you're welcome. (I want to add in a clause here - This is true, unless she says 'Thanks a lot' - that is PURE sarcasm and she is not thanking you at all. DO NOT say 'you're welcome' . that will bring on a 'whatever').

(8) Whatever: Is a woman's way of saying F-- YOU!

(9) Don't worry about it, I got it: Another dangerous statement, meaning this is something that a woman has told a man to do several times, but is now doing it herself. This will later result in a man asking 'What's wrong?' For the woman's response refer to # 3.

* Send this to the men you know, to warn them about arguments they can avoid if they remember the terminology.

* Send this to all the women you know to give them a good laugh, cause they know it's true!!!
