When you think of stores in the UK, Marks and Spencer's is one of the top stores, that is classical British. When we first came to Canada in 1989, there were actual Marks and Spencer's stores in our malls. We continued to buy from them, just like we had done when we lived in the UK. There was nothing better than Marks and Spencer's underwear in my opinion. As with a lot of stores, they closed down and we had to wait until someone came over (usually my mother) to bring things from the UK.
Now Marks and Spencer are shipping all over the world and they had a black Friday sale with 20% off (I think) everything on the Canadian site plus free shipping. So I bit the bullet and picked up a couple of things I had, had my eye on.
For some reason I thought they had a warehouse over here in Canada, so was surprised to see the box had been shipped over from the UK.
The distinctive green colour of Marks and Spencer.Mine were pretty boring buys though. I got a couple of bath sheets. They are so fluffy and big; a great buy. They feel so luxurious.
I love a good tea towel. I do prefer an Irish Linen tea towel, but have had them from Marks before, so knew the quality and these are as good as always.
As always, super pleased with the quality and the speed. It was probably no more than 10 days from when I ordered to when they arrived.

I’ve not shopped there before, but I’m off to give them a look see. 👀
I do love M&S. Such great quality and not as overly expensive as it used to be, I think.
xx
The knickers are not as good as they used to be. The trousers are very inconsistent in length [especially for men] I have M&S towels which were a wedding present 47 years ago and they are fine. Another set bought more recently are already wearing thin...No longer one of my favourite shops, sadly
I shopped there when they were in the malls, have not shopped there since they closed. Will look and see.
I sometimes have a look around the food hall to see if there is something different or better quality. On the way through the store I glance at the ladies fashions. It is a quick glance though. The dresses are so ugly and frumpish, and the prices are far too high.
I love a good nostalgic experience. Glad it worked out well. Growing up in western Canada, I'm not familiar with the store.
M&S was in Vancouver in the late 70s, friends from school had weekend jobs there. Then in the 90s, I shopped in them in Calgary.
Now, I use the one in Gibraltar when we are in Spain during the winter. Mainly the food area for treats. The clothes are very hit and miss style and colour wise.
I do buy my best friends bras there. She got fitted when we were in Scotland and she loves them. They are decent quality and prices.
Yes, I do like Marks and Spencer.
All the best Jan
I bought my umbrella from M&S when we were there last year and we went to the food hall many times for our groceries (and some souvenir food!). It's a wonderful store!
My Resident Chef once bought me a wonderful long hooded winter coat at Marks & Spencers. I loved that coat!!
Was it Mark's and Spencer that carried "Spring Rain' scented toiletries? Best scent ever. I'm going back 40 years here.
I have heard of Marks and Spencer's but never bought from them. That towel looks just lovely.
God bless.
So many of the larger M&S stores have closed, but we have just had a big, new M&S Food store on the local ring road, next to Aldi and Sainsbury’s, which is very exciting. I like their loose leaf tea, and shortbread fingers with no nasty ingredients, and they had wholemeal plain flour for making apple crumble.
We can order M&S clothes online and collect them there.
