I'll take one please!

I was in Costco the other day and saw the viral Lindt Chocolate Advent Calendar.  I LOVE Lindt Chocolate.  It's around 5 feet tall and yes $249.99 CDN.  So of course I didn't buy one.  One, I am diabetic, and two, I have no room for those extra calories; but boy would I love to eat one of those!!!

We were at Ikea this week and I picked up this advent calendar for myself.  At $14.99 that seemed reasonable.  I am not an expert on Scandinavian  chocolate, so it'll be interesting to see what it tastes like.

Do you buy an advent calendar for yourself, and if so which one do you get?  I am going to pass this year.  I do enjoy the regular Lindt one though.

I have collected the empty one ounce jam jars with red gingham pattern lids, with permission, from the garden centre coffee shop. For Advent treats I shall fill them with dried fruits and nuts from the pantry, apricot, crystallised ginger, dates, etc. The first will contain cloves to push into an orange make the Christmas pomander which scents the room as it dries.

I don't usually buy myself a chocolate advent calendar but I've just come home from a weekend stitching retreat and one of our gifts was a cadbury advent calendar so I'll enjoy opening that. I've had yarny advent calendars in the past, saves on the calories :-)

I don’t buy one for myself, but my daughter gets a Harry Potter one every year.

My taste for chocolate has changed, so I don't buy anything chocolate any more. Now, if there was a wine advent calendar I would by one of those. Now that's a thought, I could make my own, couldn't I.

HOW much??? Oh, my goodness . . .
I was tempted by a wine one but managed to resist - for now anyway!!

I love these. Sadly Lindt chocolate has gluten and I'm celiac. I am going to Costco tomorrow - I'm going to be on the look out to buy this for my sister

I buy an advent calendar for my granddaughter but not for myself.

Advent calendars are not a really big item where I live. I used to make a small one for the boys when they were very young. I think, in fact I know, I would pass that expensive calendar right by.

God bless.

Wow. Who can afford to get that huge advent Calendar? I’m terms of money and calories
No I don’t get myself advent calendars. But last year my daughter in law gave me a “friends” one. From the show. I can’t remember what was inside the windows. Probably chocolate

I've never been lucky enough to have an advent for myself - somehow I can't seem to justify buying one just for me. I've made them for a couple of my friends and they loved them so I'm always hopeful they will return the favour. This year I discovered little jigsaw puzzle ones and bought them for the grandkids so hopefully they'll have fun with them.

DAY 1 OF TURNING $5 INTO $10,000 BY THRIFTING

I stumbled upon this on You Tube.  Really neat what she is doing. Here is the second one in the series if you liked the first one:
