Daylight Saving's Time...........

Yesterday our clocks went back one hour for Daylight Saving's Time.

We first had Daylight Saving's Time here in Canada in 1908, but was first used in Germany and Austria.

I HATE it when the clocks Spring Forward or Fall Back, it throws my system all off for a week or more.  I am always surprised that a change in one hour can do that to someone's system.  When the kids were young I hated it even more, as we brought up our kids with a routine in place, so it would always throw their routine's out of sync for a while also.

There has been talk for a number of years of stopping the Daylight Saving's Time here in Ontario, but for some reason, I thought New York State had to agree to it also??  I just wish Ontario would get on with it.

Here is more of the history of Daylight Saving's Time.

Do you have Daylight Saving's Time where you live?

Our clocks went back last weekend and I do really enjoy the darker evenings. I can't say that I've ever noticed that it's affected me, although I do not transition to the new time right away, I alway keep to the time it was and adjust slowly, I find that works for me and it di for th.e kids when they were babies too

We went back to GMT last Sunday, so the days seem much shorter, dull and wet. I must make more effort to go out for a walk.
A lovely letter in The Times, “Sir, I am impressed that flocks of geese have adapted to the clock change over our village. Their flights north are now at 4.55pm — exactly one hour earlier than last week.”

We do have Daylight Savings Time here in Tennessee too. I like when it falls back, but don’t like when it springs forward. I like how it gets lighter in the mornings in winter, especially when I was working and left early, so I could drive in the daylight, but then it gets dark by 5 p.m. in December, so that is a trade off. I’d be fine if they stopped it all together though.

I hate the time change because it throws my system off too. I really don't see the need for it. I wish they'd just split the difference by half an hour and leave it alone.

I love "spring forward" and hate "fall back." I need light at night!

I don't get thrown off by the Fall back in Autumn time change, but I am more affected by the Spring forward time change, as you lose an hour's sleep. In Autumn, we gain an hour. I don't mind the darker days, to be honest. I always recommend to people who are affected by the time change and dark days to get one of those special lamps that many stores sell for SAD (Seasonal Affected Disorder) I have friends that have this lamp and say that it really helps them!

Agreed. We had a provincial referendum on this issue a few years back but voters narrowly rejected it. Sigh.

No time change here in Saskatchewan which I find lovely.

God bless.

It takes me about a week to get used to the time change, either forward or backward. I hate the long nights with a passion and will not be happy until late January when I notice the days a getting a little longer

I hate the time change, too. For years Indiana didn't participate and we got along just fine.

Quick and easy supper........

The older I get the less I enjoy preparing meals.  I would be happy to live off sandwiches or soup.  However, as I am more than capable of p...
