Hubby worked hard for 50 years to provide for me and the kids. He even worked a year longer than he should have; actually he could have retired at 60 rather than 66, but he wanted to make doubly sure we had enough money. And then he was still worried..........
So thank you hubby and you deserve all the freedom you want, you worked hard for it.
(I will be doing a post about how the first year of hubby's retirement has gone closer to the end of the month)

People really ought to keep their opinions to themselves.
Enjoy your retirement. You have earned every single moment of it.
And may it be a long one
I have enjoyed every moment of retirement and never looked back for a moment. I never resented working and had a good career, but I did what “they” wanted and not what I wanted, and there is a huge difference!
I look forward to hearing your recap of hubby's first year of retirement. Another blogger (Anne @ https://newhappeningsatthetable.blogspot.com/) has her husband working at home sometimes, even in retirement!
The RC worked at least two years longer than he needed to and it didn't make a bit of difference to his pension overall. He just didn't feel as though he was ready but now, in hindsight, he wishes he'd retired the minute he could have.
