Didn't know whether to laugh or cry?

I am sick; not sure what with but my symptoms are lack of energy, feeling as though I have been run over by a truck, dry throat, slight cough, my ears feel full and just plain tired.  Started with it on Wednesday afternoon, and thought a good nights sleep was in order and I would be fine; alas no.

However, yesterday afternoon I went out and ran a couple of errands, which included going into this store.  I picked up my things and the cashier ran the items through and I paid.  It was then I noticed she had given me the seniors discount!

Dh says I look sick and I think I look sick, but I didn't realize I had aged that much.  I just stood there for a minute as I couldn't decide if I should say something to her as that may embarrass her, or just let it go.  I let it go, as honestly I didn't have the energy to say anything.

I did talk to a former employee of the store later and she was saying that senior discount day is a nightmare, as you don't want to ask someone if they are a senior; so if in doubt you just give it to the customer regardless.  I hope I was one of those people?

Oh well, I saved I think 50 cents!!!!  I can see the sofa and the tv as my place of rest for the rest of the day.  Have a good one.

I guess you can blame it on the lurgy. I'm not sure whether to be insulted when I'm offered a seat on the train. I definitely am when a woman offers me one.

sounds like you are starting on a cold. Lots of liquids, rest, vitamin C -- you know the drill. Don't even get me started on sr. discounts. They are fine now that they actually apply but when my neighborhood grocery store started giving them to me when I was 40 I was insulted. When I told the woman who was checking me out she just told me that maybe I should dye my hair. I started turning gray when I was about 19. I didn't look like a sr. at 40, trust me. I don't look all that ancient now but it seemed to be all about my hair.

Vitamin D works wonders for summer colds and preventing further viruses. About 2000 units this time of year.
I feel a little gobby myself but I know it is the allergies. The tablets keep the sneezing and wheezing in check but makes me feel really draggy.

Oh,I'm sorry that you're ill. Summer illness always seems to be worse to me. I had to laugh at your "senior moment". I've been offered the senior discounts since I turned 50. I never argue with them.
Blessings, Betsy

I thought my allergies were actin cup, but it also came with sore throat, almost loss of voice, loss of energy and lots of nose blowing. Guess it was some sort of virus that took quite a few days to go away.
Hope you feel better toon.

Getting a senior discount when you are not one can be traumatic; my friend was very upset when she was five years too young for it and she was asked if she is a senior! Better for the clerk not to ask and not to give it. Hope you are well soon.

Reading this on Friday - from the title, I thought it was going to be about Brexit! Hope you feel better soon. Are the paint fumes and cleanup supplies bothering you?

I used to work in a store that offered a senior and student discount on Wednesdays. It was such a nightmare to ask people if they were a senior as so many got upset if they weren't. If I thought they were I just gave them the discount and if they questioned it, I would just say I thought they were a student. It saved me from getting swore at.
