We came to Canada to live.
No regret's. We feel we have done well for ourselves and our children. The move was as much for them as for us. Every parent wants more for their children then they have and we have achieved that. We have two great children that are productive members of society.
There are things we do miss about Britain. Spring is one of them........there is no Spring to speak of in Canada, despite them saying otherwise. Family of course, but it is much easier to communicate and travel nowadays, than it was 27 years ago. Dh misses going to the football matches and certain foods of course.
I am sure we would have done okay in Britain if we had stayed, but as I said before no regrets. Here's to many more happy years living in Canada.
I am a British born, living in Canada since May of 1989. My blog is about all aspects of my daily life.

It's 35 years since we moved our family back to Canada. Time flies doesn't it?
Gill, Congratulations....to you both. And as you said travel today is easier and faster and you can always 'go home to visit'...... Bess from MA
hope you have lots more happy years their. i may have not "meet
you if you hadn't moved. who knows
Many Happy More Years to you both on your successful choice of home. It's lovely to look back and know that you've done the right thing.
xx
Time does fly. Realistically, no, there's no spring here. Two weeks ago I was still wearing a leather jacket for the chill. Today it's past 30 and sweltering.
Always nice when there are no regrets. It really does seem to have worked out well for you.
my parents have been here in Canada from Britain for 62 years may they RIP . They left and came here when they were young after the war as my dad was a soldier they came here in 1954 . They were the same loved Canada had no regrets but did miss some things from Britain . Thanks for sharing , Have a good week !
Your part of Canada must be like my part of Australia...no real Spring or Autumn either for that matter. But I suspect you do have a real Winter, unlike us.
I still miss food from my home state after 29 years, but at least it only an hours drive back across the border to get some
Congrats Gill! But you're welcome to the British spring this year...rubbish! It's been raining and stormy and windy and chilly. I miss some aspects of Canada - I think I always will - but love England and, like you moving to Canada, have no regrets about coming the other way! :) xx
Here's to another 27 happy years ahead in Canada and many more too.
