Lancaster's Central Farmer's Market

Lancaster's Central Market, is the country's (USA) longest continuously operating farmer's market.  Here are some of the photos I took.  Everything looked so fresh and yummy looking.

These lettuce looked so fresh and green.

I was told this was a type of Milkweed.
Below is a plant called Pumpkin on a Stick.  It is an ornamental eggplant.  I had never heard of this before.  It is used in flower arranging.
Pom Pom Mushrooms are something else I had never seen before, have you?  Felt soft and furry on the outside.  It is a meaty mushroom.
Tangerine Lace is a micro green.  It does have a pleasant citrus taste; again something I had never heard of.
All the cookies below are for doggies!!  They look good enough for humans to eat.
 An old fashioned candy store.
A lovely place to visit.

Interesting flowers and veg. Everything always looks so much fresher at a market, I went to a local open air market last Friday. Glad to read you are having a great vacation. My partner, Dave and I leave on Sat. for three weeks in Newfoundland, neither of us have been there so we are looking forward to it. Having problems with my blog, so started new one, however, having issues changing to my new e-mail. which by the way is davmpato@execulink.com Enjoy your days and safe travels.

What an interesting market! I had never heard of micro greens, Pom Pom mushrooms or pumpkin on a stick either...among other things you saw. And those cookies! Thre must be a lot of pampered dogs around Lancaster. Thanks for showing us everything. I hope your trip continues to go well.
Blessings,
Betsy
