Busy with this and that...

I have been "working" hard to build up my Swagbucks again as it's an easy way of earning at least $25 a month by being on the computer.  And who doesn't love being on the computer?  If you decide to join I would love it if you use my referral link, pretty please.

As we are moving to a modern house a number of our furniture pieces in this house will be so out of place.  So I have been busy posting things on Kijiji.  So far I have the futon from the attic, the dresser/drawers from the spare bedroom and the dining table and chairs we bought to stage the house.  There have been no bites yet for them, but I am hopeful.

Here is an article on how NOT to sell your house, quite funny.

I was out and about with dd and Miss Nora on Thursday.  Dd and I were at the ATM machine as I needed some money and I was telling dd about how good of a drive I had, had that morning.  The guy at the next machine then says, had we heard about the bad accident on HWY 400.  I had just driven down that highway.  Just north of where I get on the highway there had been a 96 car collision due to white out conditions.  Read more about it here: Collision  That must have been ever so frightening.  Both dh and I had to blow out the driveway on Thursday and due to the overnight winds it will be to do again today.

Perhaps the buyers of your house may be interested in purchasing some of your furniture as well??

I don't like becoming "friends" with buyers of our houses. The less you have to do with them the better.

We will however closer to the closing date offer anything that we are left with to them if we haven't sold it. There are going to be lots of items from the garden that we won't want and/or can't take with us.

We will be facing a similar situation of how to get rid of items we no loner want/need when our home sells. We have given away items, tossed out, and sold a few things on listings similar to the one you mentioned, Gill. And while we don't foresee becoming friends with any future owners, we would happily sell them any items.
Read the article on that highway pileup and what a difference a short time made for you!

That was a horrible 96-car pile up! I'm glad you weren't part of it.

How frightening for people involved in that car crash. I was glad to hear no one was seriously hurt and hope that is still the case. Good look on selling your extra items. As for that messy house all I could think of was I hope they have a thorough pest inspection. I certainly would keep on moving!

When we lived there ,it was always a bad accident spot.First drive in to work after we moved there, we got rear ended at 80km...I got whiplash.
We are snowed in, the snowblower has gone on strike.

Isn't it an odd feeling to just 'miss' an accident like that. Three or four years ago, we headed north to this Sandhill Crane viewing station. It was super foggy. There are two roads we sometimes take when headed that way, We chose the one road. The other road had a 41 car pile-up that morn.

That area of the 400 has always had a history for that in the winter... when my parents lived up in cottage country, they'd only go to southern Ontario in the winter if they knew some of the secondary highways were open. They didn't bother with the 400 at all in the winter.

I tried swagbucks last year after reading how wonderful it is on your blog, but I wasn't very good at it I guess :( do you have to be pretty dedicated to make it worthwhile? I should give it a go!
