We will save 25 cents per day for the month of January, then in the month of February we will save 50 cents per day. Then in the month of March 75 cents per day and then in April, $1 per day. You of course can save as much or as little as you want, this is just to get you all in the habit of saving something. Find a pot, jar or box to put this all in. Here is mine it sits on top of the speaker by the computer:
I will post reminders amongst my regular posts, lets see how much we can all save during the first four months of 2009. Please also feel free to post on your blog that you are doing this, a link back to my blog would be greatly appreciated :0)
Just a reminder, January 2nd, there will be a post about what to do with all those Christmas cards, so don't throw them out.

Hope you feel better soon, Gill!
Am going to share the simple savings plan with my DS. Sounds so doable.
Sorry you are not feeling well. Am following your savings plan of transferring the amount under £10.00 from my current account to a savings account weekly.
I hope you are feeling better! And I am definitely going to do this - every little bit will help, right????
Kris
Hi Gill,
Thanks for your comment on my blog. This savings plan sounds interesting, but I would not be able to double it every month until the end of the year;-(
How does that work? Guess I could start over when it got to be more than I could save;-)
Well, I guess I didn't read the math too carefully until after my comment!! I see now that you just increase it by 25 cents. I did the math and put it on my new calendar for the year. It will come to almost $600.00 acording to my machine. I'll try doing that!
Get well soon Gill. Interesting concept here. Based on my calculations, you'd see $595.50 by year's end. Not a bad way to get there I suppose.
Hope you're feeling better soon. It's a real bummer this virus! Knocks you for six for quite a while.
Now I'm going to have a go at this but my main problem is I'm one of those people who don't carry much cash because I spend it! SO I'll do my best.
I'll join you on this savings plan and I think I'll do it on a smaller scale for my kids.
Gill, I hope you are soon feeling better. The Savings Club is a great idea. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for this brilliant idea, I am sitting here with my 12yo son working out how much we could save. He is adding it up now.
I most certainly will give this a whirl, nothing to lose only gain I would think.
