Nursery Rhyme.......

The other day I was at the grocery store with my grandson.  Had him in the shopping trolley buckled in and while we were waiting to cash out I was singing him this nursery rhyme:

Clap hands for daddy to come,
Give (child's name) a cake and a bun,
One with sugar and one with plum,
Clap hands for daddy to come.

The guy in front of me turns round and says:

"Did you say sugar and plum?"

Me: "Yes, why."

Guy: "No reason."

Cashier in broad Scottish accent: "Never heard of that one."

Woman behind me in a broad Scottish accent: "Me neither."

I thought this was a common nursery rhyme and British.  Am I wrong?

Oops......

Over here in Canada, and I would think it's also the same in the United States, putting your middle finger up to someone is classed as a rude gesture.  It's also called flipping the bird and basically means go away using bad language.

Now why  am I talking about this, you wonder?  So back in late April, early May I dropped a rock on my finger and it resulted in a blood blister under the nail.  One grandson is fascinated with my finger for some strange reason?
Anyhow, when showing people my finger I usually show it like the photo below.
Can't say I thought much about it, until son mentioned that did I realize that when I do that I am giving people the finger..........can't say I did..........oops!!

All about Liam..........

Our little man was 11 months the other day.  He is growing up so fast.
I made him a bunny when he was born.  However due to it being his go too toy that he sleeps with it has now seen better days.  So I was asked to make him something else.  I had a number of flannel scraps leftover from another project and some felt, so I made him a monster.  It had to have ears on it, as that is what he chews on!!  It is lightly stuffed so it is light enough for him to cart around with him.

Liam has 6 teeth, which he is very proud of.  He likes to make sure they are nice and sharp and chews on his crib to sharpen them.  So I was asked to make something to cover the top rails and this is what I came up with.
