Watery Wednesday......

This is a different Watery Wednesday shot, but there is water in the Hummingbird Feeder, so I figured I could use it? Its actually water mixed with powder to make a nectar mix for the hummingbirds.

Watery Wednesday......

These photos were taken in the same place as last weeks photos, down the back road I travel to, to go to the nearest city. They actually reminded me of the swamps in South Carolina, where the trees are standing in water.

Watery Wednesday......

Across the fields at the back of the house is this watery area. I haven't been near it yet, it looks sort of swampy, plus its not our property, and swamps = snakes!!! I took these photos off our back deck.

Watery Wednesday

This will be my last post for Watery Wednesday for a couple of weeks, as we are moving. So I pulled a photo from our vacation in Charleston, South Carolina, last year. This is a photo of the Arthur Ravenel Bridge in Charleston. By the way, those are not flying saucers in the sky, but a reflection of the lights from the tour boat we were on!!!!

Watery Wednesday

It's Spring in Canada, and here is a bit of Fall caught up in the ice. Took these photos when we were up North at the beginning of the month. The leaves were suspended between the layers of ice in the lake, pretty neat eh?

Watery Wednesday.........

We went to North Bay on Sunday to see ds, and I took a photo of the Chief Commanda II cruise ship on Lake Nipissing. It had snowed the day before so the lake was covered with snow. It was half ice and half water the lake.

Oh, and yes it was nippy cold with the wind coming off the lake!!

Watery Wednesday

On Sunday it poured down, so I took these photos from my back patio doors. Don't the raindrops on my washing line, look like little soldiers all lined up in a row? For more detail click on the photos.

Watery Wednesday......

First for this week is a photo of the pond with two geese there. These "darling" geese are a couple, and as Spring is here they are mating and HONKING........and boy do they honk a lot. I was on the phone the other day and one of them was on the our rooftop and the other on my neighbours rooftop, and they were busy honking back and forth for ages. They were that loud, it was hard hearing the conversation on the other end of the phone!!!

I took this second one, as I was thrilled to see the water flowing. There is still ice on the main ponds, but it is nice to see open water, finally.

Watery Wednesday...........

We went for a walk on Sunday and walked past this pond. As you can see its mainly frozen, but there were areas of water there, and there were some Canada Geese walking on the ice. Spring must be coming, as we are seeing more and more geese in the area. For more detail, click on the photos to enlarge them.

Watery Wednesday

I took these photos of the Nottawasaga River on Saturday. The river was flowing very fast as we had, had a big thaw during the week. It looked very powerful.

Watery Wednesday

My contribution for this week is the tap running when I was filling the sink to wash the dishes, for once the dishwashing liquid was giving me plenty of bubbles. Sorry about the quality of the second photo........

Watery Wednesday......

On Sunday we went for a drive out in the car, and we passed a river so I took some photos. It was bitter cold so all these photos are taken in the car. It was a lovely day, and at least the river was flowing, but honestly Spring seems to be a life time away at the moment!!! (Look for the animal footprints on the third one, they're on the ice/snow)

This photo was taken at the Welland Canal back in June of 2008. I actually posted a series of these photos, along with some information about the canal on this post

It was actually very interesting to watch the ships go in and out of the canal.
