Really ingenius........

Over here in Canada and I know in Britain, we celebrate Remembrance Day on November 11th.  Between now and then veterans sell Poppies that we pin onto our lapels.  On Saturday dh and I went into town and called into Tim Hortons for a coffee and donut.  Standing just after the speaker in the drive through was a veteran selling his poppies.  He was doing a roaring trade and I thought he was very ingenious; as that drive through is very busy and basically he had a captive audience!!!

I spent part of Saturday outside doing some tidying up.  I noticed our neighbour out back was also busy.  He is busy planting another "forest!!"  He planted the one on the right last year, and is putting the one on the left now.

No idea where he is getting all the trees from.  He has all the correct equipment to dig the holes and plant the trees....
Our company arrives today, so I will probably not be visiting many blogs over the next three weeks, but will try and post every day.  Oh and only 6 more sleeps to the wedding day.......

Did you dread reaching a certain age?

I found my 25th birthday the hardest.  I thought I was so old; no idea why.  When I turned 30 or 40 it never bothered me, but 25 was a bad one.  How about you?

Does anyone know why Bristol Palin is still on Dancing With The Stars.......

Wednesday was another gorgeous day.  I got all the Spring bulbs planted, so that is another job out of the way.  Also got the remainder of the leaves mulched with the lawn tractor.

I was reading this article which had the Title: Revealed: The embarrassing wrong quiz answers that prove Britain really is dumbing down.

and finally:
In Flanders Fields
By: Lieutenant Colonel John McCrae, MD (1872-1918)
Canadian Army

In Flanders Fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.
