A $14.68 fix........

Dd and the girls popped up for a visit on the weekend.  Amongst the things we did we had a trip to Homesense for a look around.  Miss N. felt very grown up carrying Nana's handbag.

Miss P's hands were full with "Scarf Bear!!"

As soon as we walked through the door we saw this display.  I LOVE those milk boxes, really cute.
The girls took Timmy the Turtle home and here he is in their garden.
I found a new ironing board cover.  This is why the title of the post is $14.68 ($12.99 plus 13 % tax = $14.68)

So on Monday I too off my old ironing board cover and underneath it I had put tin foil, which had rusted through.
When I removed the tin foil, it was even more rusty, but very serviceable.
So covered it with new tin foil.
Added the new ironing board cover and everything is good too go.
Remembered to cut off any usable hardware.
Then bundled it all up and threw out the old cover and tin foil.  It looks nasty doesn't it?

Should be all good for a few more years.

Super Model in the making?

When we were at the mall the other day, Nora decided to try out her super model poses!  I really like the dresses she is posing in front of.

What every self respecting 4 year old..........

has in her purse...

From left to right a pair of socks, a hand mirror, lip balm and assorted Shopkins!!! (cat's have attacked the chair with their claws in dd home😮)

Also included in this photo is one of her Beanie Babies, which she can clip onto her purse.
I need to make her sister a purse next, I put a link to the pattern, here on my blog.

4 already............

Can you believe it Nora is 4 today?
This photo was taken earlier in the month.  Both girls are tall for their age, we're expecting a 5' 7" + girl out of Nora, and the same for Paige.

The past four years have flown by.  She started school in September and loves to write her name and everyone else's.  Has a new best friend called Olivia.  Is the only child I know who LOVES going to the doctors.  She is the doctors best child patient and will do anything she asks of Nora.

She is also a hypochondriac as well😏 and her parents should take shares out in the band aid/plaster industry as they go through that many.  At any given time Nora has a band aid on her body somewhere.  She's full of questions and loves her sister, except when Paige pulls off Nora's band aids in the bath tub!!

We love all our grandchildren equally and all of them are a delight, but on this day, it's all about Nora.  On Saturday all the grandchildren are getting together at The Build A Bear for a birthday party and it will be crazy but fun.

Happy Birthday Miss Nora, we love you ever so much!

Some photos.........

I did post these on Facebook, but will share with you as well.

Miss P turned 9 months old on Wednesday:

Both baby and mother are a lot happier due to getting more sleep!  Her favourite things in life are food, crawling and eating soil from the house plants.  She still has a "fetish" with the heating vents as well.

On Tuesday it was crazy hair day at daycare, and Miss N went like this:

She was a unicorn.  The "horn" is made of tin foil, shaped like a horn, with Miss N's hair wrapped around and and held in place with hair elastics and sprayed with hairspray.

As I said to dd, all Miss N's friends would love it and all the other mother's would hate dd for being an "over achiever!!"  She just laughed.

Icky, Icky, Icky

Daughter sent me these photos the other day, knowing full well I would whine on about them.  I do not like this sort of thing........

I hate it when kids get all messy like this when eating.  I always have the dishcloth on hand when they eat over at our place.  Miss P is a very independent eater, so likes to be hands on.  Dd finds it easier just to let her get on with it so always puts food on her tray and if need be feeds her by spoon in between hands.  Miss N was exactly the same and I have a similar photo of her doing the same thing.

I still think it's icky......

How to negotiate with a 3 year old and win!!

Miss N. has a teddy which she carries around with her EVERYWHERE.  Teddy is a bit worse for the wear but Miss N. loves him.  When dd was doing Miss P's  8 month photos, she asked Miss N. if she wanted to have her photo taken?  She said no, but teddy wanted his taken.
Below with Miss N. is Annabelle.  Annabelle was given to me Christmas 1967, so she will be 50 years old this coming Christmas.  At the same time I was given a pram to put her in.  It turned out I preferred the sit on tractor of the neighbour boy and he loved my doll and pram?
Miss N. has taken a shine to Annabelle and carts her around with her when she is at our house.  She wanted to take Annabelle home with her.  I said fine but then I keep teddy...........
Annabelle is still with us, and teddy went home with Miss N!  Just in case you're wondering, teddy loves to eat Shepherd's Pie and uses the toilet just like Miss N!

M.I.A. - not really

Life is flipping busy at the moment, so sorry for not popping in and keeping you updated with what has been happening.  Since May 5th we have had visitors from Britain, namely my mam and step-father.  They came to see their great-granddaughter.  The trip was planned back in November and at that time we weren't sure when we would be moving.

Anyhow, their visit has been busy for both them and me, with things to do everyday.  Today (Monday) we had tea with Queen Victoria:
What both my mam and step-father found amusing was that they do not celebrate her birthday in her country of birth, but here in Canada we go all out.  There was an event at the local museum and we went and had an enjoyable time.

They leave on Saturday evening, so only a few days left now.

A while ago I mentioned a friend/co-worker/surrogate Canadian brother had cancer.  He lost his fight last Tuesday and tomorrow (Tuesday) is his funeral.  Please say a prayer for his wife and two young children (ages 2 & 5) and his parents and family.  They are all devastated and understandably so.

The house is coming along nicely and we had a visit on the weekend with all the family and got to look through it.  Very excited and pleased with how it is all looking.  Here are a couple of photos.  The first one is of the ceiling in the family/living room looking towards the kitchen.
That light fixture is going and shouldn't actually be there.  We are all very pleased with the look of the ceiling.

This one is of the kitchen looking towards the family room:
The counter tops are not in yet, they are a light granite I think/hope!!!  Don't remember what I ordered.  All the tiles, hardwood and carpet are in.  They are down to the nitty gritty and fingers crossed should be ready in time for us to move into.  Can't wait to show you all what's what.

I finally sold the last of the big things on Kijiji over the weekend.  Plus I got rid of all the firewood we had left over from this year.  Packing will resume in earnest after the weekend, although dh has made a start on clearing out the garage as that is a big job.

We managed to get a lot of old wood burned on the fire pit yesterday so again a good jobbed, jobbed as I say.

Our little munchkin just turned 6 months old:
And has just got her first tooth and should be crawling pretty soon, as she doesn't like laying still!!
She is a little character that's for sure with those big blue eyes.

Another bit of news, our Little Princess is going to be a big sister in September.  It's going to be a surprise as to what sex it will be, but my bet is on a little boy.

I may not get back to posting until after next weekend, but want to thank each and every one of you who pops by and reads my blog.  I do so appreciate it.

Gill xoxo

Taking a break.......

back in a while.  Nothing wrong...........
