Trying a different way...

I have been sewing cushion covers for the seating set on the front porch.  When doing the upper/back cushions I wanted to try something a little different as I ran into this problem:

As you can see the elastic on the back stretched out over time.

So this time I bought thicker/wider elastic and triple stitched it to the beige fabric and then when joining everything together I triple stitched it again.
I slip it over the back of the chair and it holds it nice and secure.
I only hope it holds up better this time.

Now everything is all done it looks a bit better.

I ended up with over 3 yards of fabric leftover, so have listed it on Facebook Marketplace for $30.  If I can manage to sell it, this project will have cost around $80, including all supplies, which is a heck of a lot cheaper than buying new cushions.  If I can get three years out of this set, that's less than $30 a year.

Oh, I love how you think....breaking the price down per year! Your porch is very inviting with your cheerful cushions.

I would think using wider elastic would help the cushions stay in place so clever you! Your new cushions look lovely. Which reminds me that I guess it's time to unearth ours from beneath the bed where they have been stored for the winter.

I love breaking down what I spend and how long it’s been since I spent it.
I still have clothes that I’ve had for almost twenty years.
They have been good clothes, home clothes and now pjs.
I’ve got every single cents worth out of then. That’s for sure

Tulips and Daffodils.........

The tulips are out in full bloom now, whereas the daffodils, are starting to die off.  Here are some photos of them from my garden on Tuesd...
