A new "toy" for us......

As the weather is getting cooler and probably more inclement we decided to buy ourselves a treadmill.  We picked it up at Canadian Tire in the Black Friday sales and have to say we are very pleased with it.  It is nothing fancy but it does the job.  We picked up this model, but only paid $500 for it, not the $1,999 it says online.

However, I will not be using it for a couple of days as I went and twisted my ankle yesterday while walking. I moved to one side to get out of the way of a large pick up truck and stood on a stone and slipped.  The guy in the pick up truck stopped and made sure I was okay, luckily he just rolled down his window and didn't get out of the truck,  I felt a right fool.

Anyway, I only suffered minor gravel rash on my knee, but I twisted my ankle, and as the day progressed it got worse.  So no walking for me for a couple of days to let my foot rest up.

This is an old song:

This is no toy! It'a a valuable piece of equipment that really helps us keep fit at home. Good for you.
I hope your ankle is better soon!

As owner of various types of gym equipment at various periods in my life, I'd strongly suggest you invest in a treadmill mat. My first treadmill I didn't have one, didn't think I needed it, and used it enough to wear a hole in the carpet underneath.

we have a rug underneath the treadmill on top of the carpet to protect the carpet.

I had a treadmill once upon a time and it got a TON of use! I'm sure you'll enjoy it. Remember the RICE formula for your ankle: rest, ice, compression and elevate :)

Our treadmill is in storage right now and so I am gingerly making my walk over icy patches and snow banks. So looking forward to getting it set up once again.

God bless.

I hope your ankle is healing up nicely for the holidays. May I ask what you meant about moving to an "adult neighborhood?" It is actually my hope to one day live in the UK.
