Instant Pot...........

It seems as usual I am way behind on the latest thing/trend.  For those of you not in the know like me it's a fancy pressure cooker, with many, many other features and people love, love, love them.

now if you click on this link it will take you to Amazon where I got the photo from.  I read through a couple of the reviews on these and everyone seems to rave about them.  Like many people the less time I have to spend in the kitchen the better, but are these a worthwhile item to buy when there is just two of you in the house?  They also seem to be quite expensive; someone did say to wait until Black Friday or other good sale days?

I am still not decided about this, so I thought I would ask you if you had one and why should I get one; or not get one as the case may be?

Oh. My. Goodness. I have one. My friend bought one and tried to convince me I needed it. I was skeptical because I had an old-style pressure cooker years ago that I never liked. But we also do a lot of camping in our RV. The idea of being able to use one appliance to do so many things intrigued me. So I bought mine during the Black Friday sales on Amazon. I paid US $59 for it. I absolutely love it. I roasted whole chicken last Friday in 35 minutes. I use it to make steel cut oatmeal in 12 minutes. Enough oatmeal to last the entire week. Rarely a meal goes by that I don't use it for some function or other now. Now I wonder how I lived without it! I do agree they're pricey, but if you can find one on sale I don't think you'll regret it. I also did not buy the one with the yogurt function. I just can't see myself ever using that function and that saved a lot of money.

I keep looking at them as well but storage space is at a premium here and I have just gotten rid of a couple of crockpots and two bread machines. Not sure if I really need this. If you get one, please post if it is worth it.

I am late to the Instant pot party also but will be following this with interest. I have been looking and debating exactly the same thing!

I was wondering the same thing! Just didn't want it to end up another appliance in my kitchen cupboard hardly used.

I have wanted one for a while. The price does go down on Black Friday and my dh was willing to buy it for Christmas but I still didn't want to spend that much and talked myself out of it. I am buying it this year and facebook does have a page with people posting recipes, pictures and such. Cheryl

I forgot to say that this pot sautes and is a crock pot too. True one pot meals. No need to have a bunch of dirty pans when it is all done in one. And I've been able to get rid of my crock pots because this works so great. I sound like a commercial but I think that's because I was so skeptical and I use it everyday.
Blessings,
Betsy

I have been wondering about these to but Judy of texas "Patchwork Times" cooks for her and Vince but I think she makes several meals of one cooking for her and her husband that she spreads out through the week.

I have one and I love it, Gill. I make beans from dried in less than an hour. I make baked potatoes in mine, all sorts of meat and vegetables, and even boil eggs in it. I love it and it is my most used kitchen appliance. :)

I am tempted to trade in my old, never used pressure cooker for one of these. They look a whole lot easier to use.

God bless.

I have heard alot of good comments on it and from people who only cook for two.

I'm on my own, so I don't really cook much at all.

Nope, not buying any more stuff for the kitchen. I didn't replace my pressure cooker when it died eons ago, got rid of my deep fat fryer and have not replaced it with an air fryer and have never bought a slow cooker. Don't need anything else to clutter the benches I have more than enough. No good putting it in the cupboard or I'd never get it out. Looks a big heavy beast!

I don't like food that's been frozen so would never make loads of stuff to eat later. I just make enough for two of us for the day.

Save your money Gill!
