Recipe and other things......

Made Lentil Stew on Sunday for Monday's supper and put the leftovers in the freezer for another meal:
The recipe is here.  This is both suitable for Vegetarians and Vegans; so Jane when you come over guess what you'll be eating!!!

Mrs. January wrote an article over at Save A Loonie about "Why You Shouldn't Watch Extreme Couponing."  It is well worth the read especially for those of us in Canada, as there is no way we can walk out of a store with $1,000 worth of groceries and only pay $10 for it all.  Now feel free to correct me if you know someone that has done that, I would love to meet them!!!  I had heard about the fraudulent use of coupons by one person on the show, but it explains it step by step what she was supposed to have done.

We had a couple of larger animals wandering around close to the house on Saturday night. They were probably coyotes by the size of prints in the snow. They don't normally come as close as this though.

This photo is directly behind the house:
This photo is looking towards the raspberry patch:
Yes, the rows of dead looking twigs are 6 of the 8 rows of my raspberry patch.  It always amazes me how they come back to life each year.

Gone over my limit with photo bucket this month, so that's what's wrong with the photos on my blog; or should I say lack of them.  They should be up and running again in a couple of days.

Finally a really nice sunset on Sunday evening:

Lovely pictures - as usual - but sure looks cold to me.

Coyotes must've smelt your lentil soup cooking and come hoping to get some! lol!

You have lovely views from your house.

One of the other bloggers has gone over the limit with Blogger when a charge for excess usage was mentioned. She doesn't post many pictures either. Hope this isn't the start of something new!

It is a very crisp cold so far this morning here with the woodstove going full blast. Have a nice visit with your DD today, I am hoping to get up to see my Mom. Soup looks good and you can't go wrong with soup on a cold day.

I was thinking potatoe soup today but you soup looks better!! Even in the US you can't get deals like on the exteme coupon show one of the showes was taped locally at a chain I shop at. The poor store took a beating over letting the crazy lady cheat on coupons and not follow store policy. They even let her slide on paying the tax for the food. $1,000.00 in food would have had 7.5% tax. I do really well with coupons but NEVER cheat!

Just the thing to cheer up the miserable weather we are forecast this week.

Here's another Jane who loves lentils!! I like getting my protein from lentils and beans and quinoa. But I do also eat fish and chicken and turkey. Just not pork or beef - at least not very often.

Lovely sunset!

I read that article on Mrs. January and just don't understand how someone on a TV show could get away with such fraud!

A great looking dish and those photos are gorgeous! Lovely to look at but as I have said many times before, difficult to get around anywhere.

Love your winter landscapes. We just have not had enough snow this year for the pretty pics. :)
I'm almost at the end of my limit for pictures. Not sure what I'm going to do.

Lovely pictures...I'm afraid we've missed our chance for snow this year. I love it!

I never watch extreme couponing...I cannot help but wonder if those people don't buy a lot of stuff they don't use. It is not saving money if you buy stuff you don't use...that being said, one of my sisters used to do real good on couponing. But she only bought what she used normally...
