The honey wagon is coming to visit today......

What's a honey wagon you ask............it's the truck who comes and pumps out the septic system.  Because we have had nothing but trouble with this house, we decided to have the septic checked out.  First of all though, dh had to find the lid for the septic tank.  To find that he had to dig down 3 feet in one of the flower gardens.  I thought he was digging to China!  We have no idea if or where there is another access lid.

We had guests for lunch on Monday, so I made quiche, baked potatoes and salad.

Although we had cheesecake and fresh fruit for dessert, I also made some butterfly buns.

I also made a loaf of bread in the breadmaker, it's been a while since I had used it.

Pleased to say there was plenty leftover for supper, so easy to put together.

That's one of the good things about having visitors - eating the leftovers. Your quiche, bread and butterfly cakes look delicious. Is that coconut you've sprinkled over, or icing sugar?
The septic tank sounds gross! and it's a miracle to me that your husband ever found that lid!

Gill,
Somehow I missed my invitation for dinner?
The quiche looks delicious, can you share the recipe. I have never made one but yours looks yummy.
Good luck with the honey wagon, we had ours cleaned out last Fall. It only took about 25 min. and $129.00 later. They say you should have it done every 3 years because it's actually the washing machine soap that does something to the natural workings of the system.

Shame they didn't point out the access cover when you first looked at the plae, though, honestly I probably would not of thought of it. Glad he found it and you didn't end up with too much digging for DH.
The lunch looks yummy indeed!

Not the most pleasant of jobs to be done around the property...but pretty necessary.

Your butterfly buns loook so festive!
And, I want to say another 'thank you'. My cookbook has arrived! Looking through all those delicious recipes...which one will I make first? The tomato jam looked interesting since the tomatoes are now rolling in.

The quiche looks so good. I've never heard of butterfly buns before. They look like a dessert. And that loaf of bread looks scrumptious.

The septic tank is another story all together. LOL
