It was a lovely day on Wednesday and in the afternoon I cut the rest of the field. After I did that I took photos of some of the views from around The Acreage.
Last day of September already, no idea where the month has gone too. I wanted to hold off putting on the heating or the fire until at least October, and I am pleased to say we have managed to achieve that. My next goal is to try and keep it off until October 8th.
I also got dh's hair cut as well before supper. This must be the fourth time I have cut it and I think I am starting to get the hang of it.....finally!!! Dh was fed up of paying nearly $20 for a haircut, so I bought some clippers for $100 and I started to cut his hair. I know the more I do it the better I get. I also know that another couple of times I will have paid for the clippers by dh not going to the hairdressers.
Trying to save money where ever we can............

I had my hair cut today at the local hairdressers - $20AUS - a price that is a few cents more than $20CAD (currntly you are 0.9998 cents to $1AUD). It's expensive, isn't it? I usually get mine cut real short (recruit style) and make it last as long as I can.
It's the most beautiful time of the year isn't it. Lovely photographs...xxx
Lovely photos. Here we're still waiting for a hint of autumn. I did manage without the air conditioning for most of yesterday, and also overnight although I was awake for an hour, feeling a bit over-warm and also missing the 'white noise'! I'm sure by the end of September it ought to be less than 30C, and look longingly at places further north. Hope you manage to stay warm. (I also cut my husband's hair although our clippers were a great deal less expensive)
I love the colours of Autumn too Gill. You have some wonderful views around you. We are also determined to hold off on the heating for another few days at least, just adding layers! A x
Breathtaking photos Gill!
My husband has been cutting my hair for as long as I can remember and I do the children's hair. I'm not allowed to do dh's hair anymore though, I didn't do such a great job last time!
Simply breathtaking!!!

Yesterday I went out to pick veg and stopped and looked at bronze leaves against the very blue sky we had yesterday. I didn't want to look away it was SO beautiful.
Yesterday evening we went around the property and picked lots of autumn coloured branches, grasses and flowers(the Michelmas daisies that are everywhere)to deliver to church to decorate for this weekend.(Our church has Thanksgiving a week before the real one because so many people go away that weekend).Aren't we lucky to be surrounded by so much (free) beauty!

The pictures are so beautiful!!!! Fall is on the way here, too.
You'll get the hang of the clippers real soon. I've been cutting DH's for most of our married life. Has saved a fortune. I get a can of spray to clean the blades. Makes them last longer and cut smoother.

Lovely photo's Gill. I cut my father and OH's hair for years. My dear OH always said the difference between a good and a bad hair cut was only three days, during that time he could always wear a hat.

Great shots of the lovely Fall colors!
As for the haircut...isn't it nice to be a guy? I wish I could have someone cut my hair for free as my cats are at least 55$ before taxes! I have a cousin who is a hairdresser who used to do it for free, but she lives in Toronto and is now so busy at her salon that she hates cutting haire outside of work! I went to her salon once and my cut and highlights cost 110$!!! I nearly choked and that was WITH a discount!
Love the photos, autumn is both our favorite time of year! The hints of color are just started to peek out. Your photos are awesome.
I have clippers. But hubby now shaves his head!
I love fall. Lovely photos.
A good idea on the hair clippers. Your photos put me in the Fall spirit. They're all so lovely!
Hi Gill!! Your fall pictures are just lovely!!! I love the colors of fall, and you've captured them so beautifully! I don't think our fall will be much to photograph because up until today, we've been so dry.
Good idea with the clippers--I have a set for the dogs and wonder if I could use them on my husband?? ;-)))
Gill,
Fall is always so beautiful when you live among lots of deciduous trees. Some years the colours are better than other for lots of reasons which I won't bother to bore you with.
Love the Quilts pics.
I have been cutting Hubbies hair for over 3 years now. Mostly just a buzz cut and some fine trimming.
It's really not hard to do and He was coming home from the Barber shop and still cutting it. That's when I think He said enough is enough and bought the clippers.
Now I charge him 10.00. Just joking.
Have fun this weekend.
