Now technically these are not flowers, they are buds on a tree, a maple tree, but they do look like little flowers when you get a closer look at them, just click on the photos to enlarge them. I couldn't get a closer shot, and it was a dull day on Saturday.........

Gill i know what you mean about generous calves. The trouble I have had getting boots to fit. I bought some wellies in France and they were cutting off my blood supply! So I just cut off about 4 inches and everything was fine!
I love seeing buds on trees! We had some here last week and the week before, I just hope they haven't all frozen to death...
Love the bud silhouettes!
Is this the same tree in your header - that shot is lovely as well.
They do look like flowers. Thanks for sharing them Gill, lovely photographs!
Buds get bigger, swell and then - out come the leaves all bright and green.
Spring is coming
JJ
I'm watching my maple trees bud too, but I think I'm just a little bit ahead of you, but soon we'll both have those beautiful green leaves! I can't wait!
Flowers, buds, what's the diff! They are all sure signs of spring.
I love the boots! I would wear them to the store and out and about. At my age you can afford to be a little crazy!
I like very much your photos, Gill. Now they are buds, but very soon they'll be beautiful flowers.
Have a very happy easter, dear!
I think they look like flowers too, Gill. And, funnily enough, I took photos of some yesterday. We must both anxious for spring! (But I haven't posted mine yet, You beat me to it!)
That's how my maples looked at the beginning of the week. After a few days of warm weather, there are baby green leaves now. Dull day or not, these are nice photos, Gill.
Love the boots. The blossoms almost look like berries from a distance.
All signs of new life bursting in spring are beautiful ~ even maple tree branches. And I LOVE the new boots you got!
Lovely! A blessed week to you.
