I am a British born, living in Canada. Moved from the countryside in June 2014 to an "Active Adult Community" which is a whole new way of life.
My blog is about all aspects of my daily life.
I got myself an orchid for my birthday, I love them! It lives at my office with another orchid I got myself for my birthday two years ago. Do you need any pointers in caring for it? have you had any before? Just in case you haven't, here's a key pointer: you only need to water it about once every ten days to two weeks and never, ever leave water in the saucer, the roots will rot and the orchid will die faster than you can imagine. I killed my first one by leaving water in the saucer and felt awful about it...
Simply Gorgeous! My entry. Have a blessed Sunday!
Happy Belated Birthday! Beautiful orchid.
I've got an orchid just like that one! Just yesterday I brought it up from the basement (under the shop light) where it lives while it's growing it's stem. We currently have 3 different orchids that we've kept alive and blooming for many years. Something I didn't realize was possible.
Wow... the more I see orchids, the more I adore them.
Very lovely orchid pictures!!Thank you for sharing, Gisela

happy birthday!beautiful flower! xxx
What a pretty orchid. I love orchids, and don't have the right light in my house to grow them, but I have 4 orchids growing on our patio; they do well here in California. But you can grow the more exotic kinds indoors.
Simple gorgeous! I have one from last year, just in a pot. There is a new branch coming out. I might get new flowers on it this year. So exciting!Nice pictures by the way! Have you seen the picture of the coyotes on my blog? (not a good picture though, couldn't get too close for all the good reasons.) So we get the coyotes and you get the orchids.:) Lucky you!
Such a lovely Orchid for your birthday, many happy returns of the day as well.It is best not to speculate too much about one's old age and how one may go. Thank goodness the only certain thing is that sooner or later we all go, until such time, speculation can implant expectations that your body then lives up to. Best to enjoy each day as it comes.
lovely flower & photo's,happy birthday!Jodie x
