No idea what this shrub is, but the flower has a beautiful fragrance. However there are moth "nests" all over it, and it is being eaten by them, so I need to get a blow torch out and torch the webs.

Lovely Gill. It looks like one I identified a few weeks ago at my Today's Flowers entry: http://anenglishgirlrambles.blogspot.com/2009/05/todays-flowers.html
No sure if this is the same as yours but mine was identified as a Double European Bird Cherry (Prunus Padus CV Plena)
It looks like mock orange to me!?
lovely flower tree!
Isn't the slightly bitter scent of this blosom tree amazing?
Hi - those are not moth nests - they are caterpiller nests - and yes, cut the branches and burn them, or you will lose your leaves, and the tree will lose a year's growth.
Hi Gill, I have been so enjoying your move to the country. The first thing I thought of was a butterfly bush. My mil had one in her yard and it looks very similar. They can grow to quite a height. They are wonderful for attracting, of course, butterflies and small beautiful birds. Heather
