Good News..........

Our House is:

The buyers did a home inspection on Friday and signed off on all the waivers. So we will be moving from this house on May 1st.

Here are a couple of photos of the house we are buying, it was a pretty overcast day and it was raining:

We close on this house on April 28th, as the place is filthy and I wanted a couple of days to make a start on the cleaning before we move our stuff in.

It's a 1907 house, with a formal living room, country kitchen/dining room, a full bathroom and a mud room extension on the side. On the back of the house is an extension with a main floor family room, and a big room underneath it with a patio door walk out. That room will be partitioned off to make a laundry room, and a large rec room.

Upstairs there were three bedrooms, but one has been knocked into one big one, which will be ours, plus a spacious double bedroom. Another full bathroom, and there is a door in the bathroom which leads up to the attic.

We need to insulate the attic, add a couple more windows and move the stairs and that is going to be a great sewing room/bedroom. There is a bit of work to be done on this house, but we are so looking forward to moving.

Then there are 4.8 acres of land, that is going to be so much fun sorting all that out. My birthday is coming up in the middle of the month and I have requested a pair of pink wellies/rain boots for my birthday off ds, as I am going to be out in the garden a lot, as it is a wilderness!!

I should say we have named this place Windy Hill, as its on the top of a hill and is quite exposed and windy!!!

Oh, that looks like so much fun! Well, work, too, but you'll have something you'll really love. The acreage will be wonderful -- so many things you could do with it.

Hello Gill
Out with theold and in with the new!
Lots of hard work ahead which I'm sure you'll not mind once the better weather arrives. Look forward to hearing all about the renovations as they go ahead.
Is it far from where you are living at the moment?
Take care
Cathy

The house is a 50 minute drive North of where we live, so I will be talking a lot more about the bad weather next Winter!!!

What a wonderful challenge. I am a little envious, haha. It must be so exciting for you both. I think your wellies will look great but maybe pair it with a good mackintosh for those rainy day. I'm so excited for you. Margaret

my verification word is "dunce", Gill you will know just how apt that is.

Can't wait to see the outside in about a year! It's going to be so gratifying to work it out just as you want.

We'll be waiting for those inside pics--especially the sewing room!

It looks like to be a great house when all is finished and ready as you like it. It looks beautiful on the hill and the big space around it is like a park. I wish you happiness in your new home.

Looks like a lovely house.

My granddaughter wears pink Hunters. My daughter just weras the usual green for mucking out the horse. If she wore pink she'd spend more time washing them.

Maybe you should get a horse to control the land. Well you'll have the wellies!

Looks like a great adventure. Does the house sit on a cliff? I can already imagine all the possibilities.
