It's been a few days since my last blog post, hasn't it?

Last week was a busy week and in all honesty this coming week isn't looking much better.  Will say though I am very pleased to announce that I have all my Christmas cards written, the dreaded Christmas letter written and everything is ready to mail out for tomorrow.  Here's hoping I get change out of $40 for mailing just the British Christmas cards.  I'll let you know.

On Wednesday I went down to dd and son-in-law's to do some batch cooking for them.  Also to have some Nora time!!!

She seems to be doing fine, not that I had much conversation with her as she was asleep most of the time.  However she did let off the biggest fart for such a small baby.  All her newborn clothes are still too big, but she is feeding well and has plenty of dirty diapers, so that's a good sign, right?  She also had her first "photo shoot," as her parents wanted baby photos taken of her.  She slept right through the session.

I will be seeing her on Wednesday when I go down again.

We didn't go this weekend, as we had things to do to get ready for winter, which included putting up the snow fences.  As it was it was a heck of a shock to get up to all the snow we got overnight on Saturday.  It took dh an hour and a half to blow out the driveway.

One thing we have going on this week is I have arranged for two real estate agents to visit the house on Thursday and Friday to see what they say about the house and any suggestions they have.  Also I want to see what they can offer us and what their plan of action would be for our house if we signed with them.  I am favouring one agent as I have met her and talked to her.  The other lady (both are women) is a lot younger and maybe not as experienced in this area.  Regardless I'll give both of them a fair shot and see who we like better.

So it will be a major cleaning and tidying up week for me.  I also have a few little jobs that need to be accomplished in amongst hands.  Dh got a number of little jobs crossed his list this weekend so that is good.

A couple of photos of Molly......

The first one isn't in focus sorry, but it shows Molly's favourite toy, her Hedgehog, she takes it to bed with her on a night. I had to resew its nose as she chewed it off.

This is Molly sitting on the sofa. I was shocked to see her jump on the sofa, as she normally only does it when dh is about, as I shout at her to get down. Mind you with those eyes, how can you refuse her anything?

Though saying that on Monday she was driving me crazy with her barking. I was cutting the lawn and had her tied up, but she wouldn't stop barking, at what I have no idea.

I have been letting her wander about on the back deck, by blocking off the steps with the patio chairs. Well today she "escaped," fortunately she didn't wander too far and I was able to catch her without having to run after her. So until dh makes a proper gate for the back deck, I can't let her off the leash.

When we first got her, although she is short haired she shed like a crazy person. I am pleased to say that seems to have come to a stop, not that there isn't dog hair on the floor, it's pretty minimal, which is good.

Can't believe its September today, where have the last four months gone too, as we moved into this house on May 1st, 2009. I am finally beginning to see a difference, and can see where some of our hard work has gone to. I will have a before and after photo on Friday for you.

They have gone and changed the time for Coronation Street to 6:30pm now, what the heck??? What a stupid time of day. Luckily we can pick up the channels from out west, so I'll have to find it on one of those to watch at a later time. Its bad enough that Eastenders is on at either 12 noon or 4pm, but to move Coronation Street is just not on!!! At that........Gill stomps off in a strop!!

Moving house and having no internet...........

Well as you know we are moving house and today we close on our new home. We don't close on our present house until Friday May 1st. We are having to change internet providers, so by later on today (Tuesday 28th) we won't have internet. They are coming to set up the internet at the new house on Saturday May 2nd.

So for those of you who have my "home" email address, I'll email you my new email address when I get it set up.

As you also know I moderate all my comments, so as I won't have access to the internet, you won't see your comment, until my internet is back up and running.

Please check in every day though, as I have prepared posts for everyday when we are moving.

I should be posting on the move and the new house on Monday May 4th........I hope!!!

Another Saturday, so it must be a garage sale day again!!!

We are going to do another yard sale again today to try and get rid of the rest of the things. Dd came up last night with a bunch of stuff to add to our pile, so fingers crossed we will be able to get rid of all our things!!! The forecast is good for today, so that is a blessing.

I have to say I am getting excited now, as this time next week, we'll have spent our first night in our new home!! So the final countdown begins. I have got most things packed, but a lot of it is last minute stuff, plus we are still using a lot of things.

One thing I am finding hard though is not gardening. I would normally be tackling the garden now, and I was looking at the back garden bed, and with all the rain we have had it is full of weeds. However, I can't do any gardening as we have packed all the gardening tools, and dh would not be impressed if I unpacked everything!!!

I was given some Canna Lilly bulbs this week, so am looking forward to planting those. Here is some information on them, though not sure what variety they are or what colour.

Otherwise nothing too exciting is happening around here, oh and I got the mortgage sorted out so that was good!!!!

I must say our meal's are getting pretty different, as I clean out the pantry, fridge and freezer. I had a red pepper, half a red onion, and half a packet of frozen small potatoes, which I fried in a pan. We had that with a turkey breast that I had in freezer as well, for Friday nights supper. Everyday it's a case of looking in the fridge, freezer or pantry to what we can use up next.

I have some chicken pies in the freezer, a couple of casseroles, some bacon, and I bought a cooked ham today. We have plenty of eggs, along with pasta and soup, so I should be able to make some quick meals over the next few days, while we are busy with other things.

Catch up time again..........

I have to say I am glad I have pre-done some day's posts, it is giving me a break to get on with other things.

The packing is coming along, and the garage sale pile is also growing!!! I will be glad when it's all over.

We went to the lawyers on Wednesday to sign all the paperwork, and have to say it all went well until he reviewed the mortgage papers and that's when things went pear shape!!!! So what we sorted out at the bank and what they sent to the lawyers is night and day. They do agree though on the amount of the mortgage, so that is something I suppose!!

I am going to the bank for 9am this morning to try and sort this mess out. I swear if its not one thing, its another!!! Also discovered the guy who we are buying the house from is nearly $7,000 in arrears for his property taxes!! Don't worry our lawyer has got us all covered so we won't be liable for that. However, we can't get over how he has managed to get away with not paying his taxes in the past 18 months......must say it makes me nervous about what we are walking into.

So a week tomorrow we will be moving. Then I guess the fun will begin!!

The weather has been miserable this week, cool and rainy. You know I do believe the weather affects your mood as well, as I have been totally fed up with everything this week.

One thing I did do this week is donate dd prom dresses (grade 8 & 12) to the Salvation Army Women's & Children Shelter, as they often have teenage girls who have to stay in the shelter with their mother and siblings and if they have a school prom, they can't afford a dress, and prom season is coming up, May & June over here, so they were really pleased I had dropped them off.

Anything I have left over from the garage sale I am dropping off at the Salvation Army store, as I am sure they will be able to sell some of the things.

I got a package of cereal that I like for $3.99, and I am getting 4 copies of the Canadian Workshop Magazine for free, so I am all happy about that!!

I just signed up for a subscription for Mother Earth News, and got an email from them regarding another magazine they have called GRIT. I haven't heard of this magazine and haven't seen it in our stores. I still can't figure out how to get a subscription to Prima magazine here in Canada, so if anyone knows let me know, please???

Catch up time again..........

Its one of those a bit here and a bit there posts.

It poured down all day on Monday. I know I am British so I should be used to the rain, but honestly it gets into my bones nowadays when it pours down. I must be getting soft or old!!!!

Monday morning seemed to go by in a blur, the phone never stopped ringing, so I suppose that could have been why!! I did get a bit more packing down and added some more things to the garage sale pile!!! The way things are going, I can see me having as much as last week to sell!! As I was out running errands on Monday, I saw where the Salvation Army drop off point was so on Monday of next week, I will be dropping all what is left over there.

Had a bit of a weird experience on Sunday. We were just leaving the house when an SUV pulled up and the guy rolled down his window and shouted hi to me. No idea who it was, but shouted hi back. He then said he was the guy who had bought our house and had brought his friend by to show him the house. So I stood and talked to him for a minute. I commented on the dog he had in the car, and so he got out and let his dog out, a huge German Shepherd, who immediately went and peed up a storm all over the neighbours yards.

His friend got out at the same time and we stood and talked about the dog for a minute. He then asked me if the garden was greening up, and I said yes, and they proceeded to walk into our back yard with the dog, without asking permission, while I stood there with my mouth open. Dh is wondering who it is, and figured as I was talking to them, I must know them.

So I go into the back yard, and try to steer them out of the our garden, as they pass the dining room, they stop and peer into the window!!! The dog has meanwhile ran out of the yard, and dh is petting him, as there were some young kids out, and this dog was big enough to knock them over.

Now for those of you in Canada and probably the States, what these guys did is a no, no. It's written into the contract that they can visit our house one more time, no later than a week before we close. Our lawyer says under no circumstances do we let them look around the house when ever they please. It's such a lot different to how you sell houses in Britain. No where near as informal and friendly. I talked to our real estate agent this morning and told her what happened, and told her to remind these guys if they want to come over to measure up etc, they have to make an appointment before this coming Friday. So we'll see what happens next.

I think I have mentioned before that one of the neighbours has a Chihuahua. I love dogs, but that rotten dog is always yapping, as the owner is forever leaving it outside. Well Monday morning, along with the incessant yapping, the geese were honking very loudly. When I looked out of my spare bedroom window, the geese were on my neighbours roof, and they back onto the Chihuahua's house, so the poor dog was going mad. Wasn't sure which animals neck I wanted to wring first, with all the going's on.............LOL

Well here we are just over two weeks until we close on the new house (April 28th). We move out of our present house on May 1st. I have to say I am totally fed up living in a state of untidiness. There are boxes everywhere and stuff for the garage sale also everywhere. You just don't realize how much stuff you accumulate over the years........

I pride myself in keeping the house as tidy as possible......it just isn't possible at the moment, and honestly other than the basics, its not worth while cleaning the house.

I am panicking as if its miserable weather on the 18th and 25th of April, when I hope to have my yard sales I don't know what I will do, as we have so much stuff I want to get rid of.

I tried to dig up my magnolia on Sunday, but it is rooted in so much that I would have just made a big mess trying to dig it up, so I'm afraid that is going to have to stay. I did however manage to dig up my three poppies that I wanted. There are no flower gardens to speak of as far as I am aware, so it'll be all to start from scratch, so I am looking forward to doing that when the weather warms up.

I guess I just want this moving lark to be over and done with!! Sorry for whining and {{{SIGHING}}}

Packing and a new cell phone, oh and Happy Easter

to you and your families. We don't do much as Easter is concerned. I had a turkey in the freezer, so had to cook that, so invited my dad and step-mother over on Friday night. Then on Saturday we had the kids over for turkey wraps and pitas at lunch time, the kids were busy for the rest of the weekend, so this was the only time we could all get together.

The turkey was only a 10 pounder, but it did us for supper on Friday night, lunch for five on Saturday and two casseroles for the freezer, which will come in handy over the next couple of weeks.

While the kids were here I got them to go through the last of their stuff, which in dd case was a lot of things. Ended up with two big garbage bags full of stuff to throw out. Another huge pile of stuff for the yard sale, two bags of clothing for charity, a couple of boxes dd took with her and a couple of more spaces in the basement. Dd said all I invited them up for was to clean out their junk..........YOU DON'T SAY ;0)

Dh has worked like a trooper these past couple of days and has got the shed cleared out, and most things packed up in the garage. Which has resulted in the being barely able to move in the garage.........and we wanted to put the stuff we have in the basement in the garage also.......

Dh has a couple of jobs to do around the house today, including taking the fan down in our bedroom and replacing it with the original (icky) light fixture. I also want to dig up my magnolia bush (the one I am hiding behind in my profile photo), as that was an anniversary gift from me to dh, and three of my poppies. Not sure if that is technically allowed, but at this point, I don't really care. I am betting the people who are buying our house aren't gardeners.

Now for my cell phone saga. I don't use a cell phone that often, but due to the fact I am mechanically challenged, dh feels its necessary for me to have a cell phone in case I break down in the car. So as we are changing companies for our home phone, Internet and TV, I cancelled my cell phone as well, as it was with the same company. I had a useless phone, which I could never hear, despite me turning up the volume all the time, so I destroyed that. So on April 3rd I had no cell phone service, and you know what I wasn't bothered.

Dh however was, so on Saturday, while we were in the mall, I got a new cell phone from Koodo One of the reasons I went with them, as it's only going to cost me $15 + taxes per month. For that I get 50 anytime minutes and 50 text messages per month, which is more than sufficient for me, as I only want it for emergencies etc.

Now along with me being mechanically challenged, I am also technically challenged. So for some reason when I rang my new cell phone to make sure it was working, it tweeted like a bird???? Who wants a phone that tweets like a bird? I know I don't. Couldn't figure out how to change that, so got dh to sort that out, but there is no ring tones that sound like a telephone. He picked out a ring that was the least offensive!!!

So when I was in the "store" she offered to give me a new "skin" for my cell phone, in a blue camouflage print. I said no thanks, and she said why not, so I said to her, do I look like a blue camouflage person, which when she had a better look at me, she said no I don't think so!!! I won't take something just for the heck of it, not when I have no intention of never using it.

I did manage to put in three contacts in the address book, no idea how I managed that, but I did. Now I have to figure out how to send text messages, that should be interesting. Between me and you, life would be so much easier without cell phones!!

Well that's enough of me rambling on for another day!!

Odds and ends.........

Had a couple of things to mutter on about. I was in Zellars (department store) on Tuesday and a woman in front of me spent just over $117 in Easter chocolate. I was astonished, I mean who spends over $100 on chocolate? I asked the cashier if she had seen people spend that sort of money on chocolate before and she said yes. All I could say, "and they say there is a recession." By the way the woman, paid by credit card. I know I am sounding pretty judgemental but even so........

On the packing front, it's coming along slowly but surely. The garage sale pile is getting bigger and bigger!!!

The downstairs freezer is starting to look more empty. The goal is to have it cleared out by the end of next week....we'll see.

On the blogging front, I have all the recipe posts completed until the end of May. Plus the week we are moving I have posts for everyday, so that's good.

More on packing and decluttering, and the daily savings club.........

As most of you know we are moving to a 1907 farmhouse, which has no closets to talk of. So until we get them built, we have a little issue with where to put everything. Including in that is our spare bedding, so I decided to buy some space bags . You know the ones you attach your vacuum too and suck out the air. I have to say I haven't heard very many good reviews of the product but I thought I'd give it a try. I paid $30 + taxes for two jumbo and three large bags. Plus I had two large Ziplock bags that I thought I would use as well.

I had six pillows, one queen sized feather bed, two queen comforters with two pillow shams each, one twin duvet with cover and pillowcases, two blankets. This is what they looked like before hand:

As they are compacted like that, I will be able to store them under the bed in the spare bedroom. All the day to day bedding and sheets, I will be storing in a blanket chest that my dad made for me years ago.

For those of you wondering what we are doing about our clothes. There is one small closet in the spare bedroom and my friend is lending us three Rubbermaid closets to use. We also have some dressers, and we will have an other throwing out session I am guessing before we move. We also plan on building closets at some point....hopefully later on in the year.

Now onto the Daily Saving Club, here we are at the end of another month, its gone by super fast hasn't it? You should have $23.25 in your pot as of today. From tomorrow April 1st, it will be $1 per day if you are following the formula. if you have kept all the money you have put into your pot, you will have saved up $45, just like that. Isn't it an easy way of saving?

Do you know what is lurking in your basement or attic?

Well I know I don't/didn't.

Opened up a box to discover a Sanyo stereo system??? At that time dh happened to call me, so I asked him if he knew where it had come from. We figured it must be one of the kids', and when I went downstairs and looked in another box, I discovered it's twin, so knew then it must be the kids' stereos. You see when they were growing up, especially when they were older, we always got them identical gifts. Stereos one year, portable tv's another year.........so there'll be a couple of stereos in our yard sale.

I then opened up this other box and it was full of ornaments and pictures, that we had packed up at the other house and had never opened up..........so another box of goodies for the yard sale.

Dh reminded me of the record player we had, so of course I groan and say but we need that, dh then said when was the last time I had used it.....probably 10 + years ago, so that is also going in the yard sale along with my records.

We have a pile of VHS video's, including a lot of Disney movies, so they too are going into the yard sale. Had a big box of computer games, programmes etc, dh went through that on Saturday and now we have a tiny box with just a few computer things in it. Most were from the late 90's, so out of date it was crazy. We have a pile of music Cd's which are mainly the kids, but they never listen to Cd's, so I guess they too will be going into the yard sale.

We have four tv's in this house, for the two of us. Only one is a new one the rest are oldies, so we are going to get rid of two of the older ones. So will have two tv's in the yard sale.

I brought over a box of Prima magazines from Britain and have a huge box of them now, plus another box of craft magazines. Now I know when dh discovers this, he will have a hissy fit, but I just can't bare to throw them out, sad or what?

My mother says if you haven't used it for a year, you don't need it. Have to say that is good advise, now I suppose I should follow it!!!

Having a day off today.......

from blogging.......been a lazy idol bum as far as my blog is concerned..........nothing to say and pooped from packing...........actually headed down to the basement and made a start in there on Friday.........{{GROAN}}

It's a sad, sad day in That British Woman's house......

I packed away my books. It took all my self resolve not to sit there and read through some of them while I was packing them. I even put a couple aside to put in the garage sale. I haven't sealed the boxes up, so that if I do need a book, especially a recipe book, I can hunt through them to find it.

Dh was a busy bee and got a lot of things cleaned out and packed in the garage. There is still a bit to do but at least he has made a start. We got the bird boxes taken down outside, just in time I may add, as I had seen some birds flying around them. We also pulled off the top and sides of the composter. However the "stuff" inside is frozen solid, so we need to let it "defrost," before we can remove it and put it in the garden. I want to take the composter with us and the compost in it isn't that great.

I have yet to start in the shed, but that shouldn't take too long. We are hiring a U-Haul truck to move the shed, garage and basement. As that would add another three hours, minimum if the movers were to move all of that, so its cheaper for us to move all of that, and get the movers to move all the heavy furniture and other stuff we have.

I have yet to pack up my Christmas stuff. I need to pack that in as few boxes as possible, otherwise I will have dh whining about how much stuff I actually have!!

A bit of good news though.........we got our taxes filed today, YEAH!!!!! We have until April 30th to file in Canada, so we are ahead of the game, so that's good.

More on moving house.......

Well lets see what's happening on the moving house situation. I picked up around 40 boxes Friday morning from the grocery store that they had saved for me. So I think we are all set with those. I can't believe people go out and buy boxes to move with. Mind you we did buy a couple of closet boxes a few years ago and we have used them again and again, as have other people. We are getting more closet boxes from the moving company that they are lending us for when we move.

I have got a few boxes packed, and have them stacked in the dining room. Have to say it looks a bit strange with no pictures on the walls. It makes them look very bare. Most of my ornaments are packed as well, so at least there is not as much to dust now!!!

We are still struggling with the insurance issue and we have got various quotes and I think we have finally got it narrowed down. It has been a draining time though, as each phone call to the insurance company can last an hour, and each person you talk to has something different to say. Plus we keep getting conflicting information from each company. They are quoting between $400,00 to $549,00 to rebuild the house, that is a wide range of pricing don't you think? As I said before I think we have decided on the company and will call them next week to finalize it.

We have an appointment with the bank to sign all the paperwork next week, so that's a good job done. All the utilities have been notified and told when to do the last readings. I have set up an account with the new hydro company. Although everything is set up for the phone, Internet and satellite, all the appointments are still screwed up and I can't sort them out until the second week of April.

Have an appointment set up for the middle of May to see about getting an alarm system installed in the new house.

I have to start on the change of address for all the magazines, credit cards, and other things. Have to go to the post office and do a change of address with them, I think that's $200 for the year.

One thing for sure it's all money, money, money at the moment.

I am plowing through the pantry and trying to use up bits and bobs, which is proving to be interesting. I got a few instant pudding mixes given so we are eating those with the canned pears for dessert every night!!! I am now down to 13 jars of canned pears!!

As I am packing I am putting things aside I don't want, as we are planning on having a garage sale the week before we move. If we can make a few dollars that would be great, however yard sales don't normally start to around May around here, so fingers crossed April 25th will be a dry fine day!!

So who said moving to the country was easy???

I seem to be taking one step forward and then two steps backwards with this move.

As per this post you have even seen the house, I have been in the house three times, but according to places I call to sort things out, the house doesn't exist???

The first time this happened I didn't think too much about it, as it was Bell Canada I was dealing with, and for anyone who deals with Bell Canada, you know what a bunch of dimwits they can be.

We had called our insurance company for a quote for the house insurance and they couldn't find this house???? We called another insurance company and they found the house no problem..okay....

So we go to the bank on Thursday and because it is a six digit number on the address, that proved to be a major problem, as the "field" on the computer only held 5 numbers?? Plus when she did get an address in the system, it didn't exist. I will say it had us both worried, as we wondered if they would give us a mortgage. We have been approved, so no problems there.

So what the problem is, we think, is that we must be on the border of two townships. So we are not sure which township we live in. Also as per the house survey we live on a concession, as per the house assessment we live on a rural route, and we have to have a 6 digit number as that is the way the fire trucks find your house. There is a true road name, it's just trying to figure out what our actual mailing address is as it can't be:

We are going to pop into the post office closest to the house today to see if they can enlighten us. Just trying to remember the 6 digits is hard enough, never mind trying to remember the Concession number and the Rural Route #, plus a new postal code. No doubt it will sort itself out, and if worse comes to worse we will contact the people who live there and ask them what mailing address they use.

Lists, lists and more lists.........

Not sure if its because I am getting older (will be the big 4 5 this weekend) or I am just more forgetful, but I am having to write everything down of what there is to do with this moving.

Got myself a note book and have instructed dh to write everything down that he wants me to do, otherwise I will forget.

I have got the movers booked, which is good. We used them for when we moved. Actually they moved us from a storage unit, to the house, and they did it while I was at work, so dh supervised it all. It's worth the $1150 that it's going to cost us, to get someone else to do the heavy work. Everyone has to work, and neither me nor dh can handle the heavy lifting.

Got the cable, Internet and home phone sorted for this house and the new house, boy was that an ordeal. I knew this was going to be the most problematic, so decided it had to be the first job I tackled. The cancellation of the services at our house, was pretty easy, setting up the new services at the new house was a nightmare. We had to do it with another company as the company we are with doesn't provide services in that area. Lets just say the company we are having to go with begins with the letter "B" and is well known!!

We go to the first store and basically their system was down and without doing a thorough credit check on us, she couldn't help us...AT ALL??? We tried to ask a couple of questions and she kept repeating that their system was down etc. So we walked out of there shaking our heads.

So we then go to a different location, and two hours later we finally get everything sorted out. The first lady tried to help us, but totally wasted our time, it took the manager and another lady to get everything set up. Now you are probably asking, why use this company, we have no choice, which sucks!!! We were both drained by the time everything was sorted out, and I still have to sort my cell phone out, but again I was just too pooped to deal with that.

Still haven't got any packing done yet!!! That will be done eventually.

Good News..........

Our House is:




The buyers did a home inspection on Friday and signed off on all the waivers. So we will be moving from this house on May 1st.

We close on this house on April 28th, as the place is filthy and I wanted a couple of days to make a start on the cleaning before we move our stuff in.

It's a 1907 house, with a formal living room, country kitchen/dining room, a full bathroom and a mud room extension on the side. On the back of the house is an extension with a main floor family room, and a big room underneath it with a patio door walk out. That room will be partitioned off to make a laundry room, and a large rec room.

Upstairs there were three bedrooms, but one has been knocked into one big one, which will be ours, plus a spacious double bedroom. Another full bathroom, and there is a door in the bathroom which leads up to the attic.

We need to insulate the attic, add a couple more windows and move the stairs and that is going to be a great sewing room/bedroom. There is a bit of work to be done on this house, but we are so looking forward to moving.

Then there are 4.8 acres of land, that is going to be so much fun sorting all that out. My birthday is coming up in the middle of the month and I have requested a pair of pink wellies/rain boots for my birthday off ds, as I am going to be out in the garden a lot, as it is a wilderness!!

I should say we have named this place Windy Hill, as its on the top of a hill and is quite exposed and windy!!!

Update on the house.........

Well we have accepted the offer for our house. It went back and forward on Sunday afternoon, but it was finally sorted out. Must say it was very stressful and it's not something I want to go through again any time soon. Now they have until Friday to have a home inspection and to confirm financing, which their real estate agent says isn't a problem.

So until we get those waivers signed back to us, the house isn't sold. So I am going to be on pins until Saturday morning. My poor head is killing me, as I am not sleeping and the headaches are coming fast and furious now. Until that happens, people can still view the house and put in offers. Have to say we haven't had anyone over to the house, since Saturday.

If everything goes through we will be moving out of this house on May 1st. I do hope it all goes well, as my poor nerves can't take much more with this.

Sorry this is such a short post, but my poor head is thumping........

It's 3am Sunday morning.........

It was a busy day yesterday, as we went to the National Home Show in Toronto. Our real estate was kind enough to give us tickets, so we went to get out of the way. There were two viewings on the house, one was a second showing, which resulted in us getting an offer last night.

It was a low ball offer (of course) and due to the fact that the agent's first language is not English, it took us a while to go through it, as the spelling was terrible, and because of that it took us longer to understand everything. Also you name it they wanted it, including things we had excluded in the original sales material about the house.

Also this agent included this requirement:

"The Seller's Agree to keep the Property clean and remove all the Garbage from the house premises."

Now for anyone who knows me, I keep our house spotless. Our agent says our house is one of the cleanest she has ever seen. So I am not sure whether to laugh or be totally offended by that requirement??? I am not sure what garbage they are referring to at this point? Oh well what ever.

One of the things they asked for was the "FRIDGER" which we figured out was the Freezer in the basement, we cancelled that as I want to take that with us. We excluded the Gazebo on the back deck, they asked for that. We excluded all my drapes (they're from England, and I love the drapes/curtains from England), they asked for those. They wanted ALL the mirrors in the house, so had to re write it to say only the bathroom mirrors are included. I mean on and on it went.

So here I am at 3am in the morning, not able to sleep. They have until 9pm Sunday night to respond, whether they do or not remains to be seen at this point. As we only dropped our price by $2,000, as the more money we drop, the less money we have to spend on the new house, and it needs a bit of money spent on it. Plus due to the economy, we have already dropped the price of the house by $35,000 from when we had it on the market last Fall.

Oh the joys of selling a house, the sooner it is over with the better!!!
