Catch up time........

Well it's been snowing here, what else is new with that I suppose!!! At least it's not minus a million, it actually feels toasty warm for a change.

I am busy with my crafting. Got the 80 blocks done for my quilt top. Need to start stitching it together. I bought the batting yesterday at Michael's and used a 40% off coupon, saving $10 there, so that was good. So all in all this quilt will have cost me around $50 in total. Just so you know Michael's has a 40% off coupon on its website every week at the moment!!

I am still doing my cross stitch hoping to have that finished this week. Been making some fabric boxes, I'll tell you more about those next month, as there is a story behind them. Still haven't put together that table runner, that's on the back burner until I get some of these other projects finished. I would like to make a lot of my Christmas gifts this year, so plan on trying to do one a month.

I have to say I am really missing my laptop, and because of that I am not on the computer as much, as the laptop is convenient, whereas the desktop I have to trail upstairs to use that. So because of that I am not visiting many people's blogs, so my apologies for that.

I am trying to not go out much, as its too cold and snowy, so my goal is to go out twice a week if not once. This week isn't a good week, and I am out Monday, Wednesday and probably Thursday, as we are supposed to be getting another nasty snow storm? When I do go out I do try and run numerous errands at the same time. I am hoping next week will be better.

I took some photos of outside of the house, thought you might be interested in seeing the snow.

As you can see we have a little snow!!! Thank goodness we bought the snow blower this year, we have used it a few times.

I haven't been trying any new dishes recently, hopefully I will post a "new" recipe to you guys later on in the week, if I make it tomorrow, as its yummy.

At least we are all healthy for a change so that good news. Otherwise things are quiet around here, which is just the way I like it!!! Oh I could do with a "cleaning fairy" to come and clean the house, as I never seem to have time to do the housework nowadays???? So if anyone could spare me one, I would be ever so grateful?

*****Are you still remembering to put your 25 cents per day away in your Daily Savings Club jar/box? You should have $4 in there now....well done*****

Oh, no -- another snow storm coming? I hadn't watched the weather network at all today. We've had enough snow, haven't we? :-))

You asked about the silk batt -- it is more expensive but, for someone like me with limited hand strength, it's worth every penny. It is like quilting through air! I love the feel and drape of it. That's the other thing that's amazing about it -- even with very heavy machine quilting, it retains a very soft drape and still makes for a cuddly quilt.

Glad you like the charts..have found my fairy now so dont feel bad. I like having my old computer back. It took nearly 3 hours to update my security settings on it as I dont allow my kids internet in their rooms..(not a dig at you ;-) but I cant help wondering why things meant to make life easier actually make life harder!

Hello Gill
Tell you what I'll be nice and send you some of our heat and that will melt all the snow away:)
Could do with a little bit of cool just for one day - then the sunshine can come back againlol
Take care

Deep and crisp but not so even by the look of it Gill. We rarely get any snow here and today I have been gardening for a short while as it is a lovely day. Think we have colder weather to come though. A x

Gee Gill--I posted our snow pictures today--and we have a 'little' less snow than you do!!! ha ha (A LOT less)...

My quilter friend loves putting together the tops--but she gets someone professionally to do the rest for her. She just enjoys the top part!!!

Have a nice day and enjoy your projects.
Hugs,
Betsy

You certainly have been getting a lot of snow. It's been very cold here but only a few flurries in the snow dept. I take it that all this crafting has weaned you off Bookworm. :-)

I could do with one of those cleaning fairies myself.

You certainly have a lot of snow. We don't have as much, but we do have plenty of cold air that somehow slipped down here from Canada! Stay warm!

WOW! And here in West Midlands UK I have basked in 5° C and sunshine and gardened all day!

You've been busy. WOW - 80 blocks. Want to make another 54 (check it out). You have more snow than we do. Our weather has warmed up though so it should be heading your way soon.

When you say snow you mean SNOW! Wow, I like it. Wish I could spend one winter like that without having to go to work, lol you know, come and go as I please.

That is an amazing photo with the rooflines. I have no experience with what it is like in suburban areas with snow, so thanks.

Yes I am still remembering to put my 25 cents away,$5.50 in the box.

The snow looks nice and crisp. It's hard to imagine that you poor people are freezing. The coldest in winter we get down to is occasionally 0 degrees. We have a few frosts, that's the closest we come to snow.

Just popped by your blog to get cooled down.

Wow- my teenager would love all that snow. Not me!
I have a cleaning fairy called Sarah- she is wonderful. I can't keep the house tidy when I am working away, and running the business so someone has to sort us out. I recommend it!
