You know when you want to share, but you can't?

We popped out on Sunday afternoon to get out of the house.  I wanted to check a store for something, but I stumbled on a lot of other things.......Christmas gifts.  All good deals and well worth buying.  However due to certain members of the family who read this I cannot tell you what store or where I got the things.  Suffice to say I was very happy with my purchases.

I can tell you about one store I went into and show you what I bought.  We popped into Pier 1 Imports.  I rarely buy anything in there, unless it's on sale as I think the place tends to be over priced on most things.  However we saw this and I knew we had to have it:

It's a dried "flower/twig" decoration that is made in the Philippines.  Here is a similar one.  I have it in front of the fire.  Obviously I will have to move it to the side when we have the fire on, but it's the perfect size.  There was a taller version and another the same height in a different colour.
Those ribs look good on the tv don't they?  We were watching the Food Network when I took the photo.  I know we need a bigger tv, but it's not in the budget at the moment, maybe for Christmas.

I have been busy reading with it being so hot and have read the following two books:

Both are great books, I just haven't had a chance to write up a review.

Such a great idea to get bargain Christmas presents, takes the pressure off too. I have a made a good start with making a lot of mine.

I have a similar flower arrangement also from Pier 1. It is in my awkward entry way sitting on a plant stand of sorts. I don't regularly go into Pier 1 but when I do I usually can't help but come home with something so consequently that is why I don't go there often!

Congratulations on finding great Christmas gifts already. You will soon be finished your shopping at this rate.

Love the dried twig and flower arrangement. Just perfect for where you have placed it.

God bless.

We have our TV above the fire too - I love having it out of the way. That's a nice arrangement for the fireplace. I used to like Pier One when we lived in America. They used to have them here, just called The Pier, but they went bust in 2008..

The books look like they're really good. I also like your new twig arrangement. I'm the same as you with Pier 1. I bought some glasses there last year but only because they were 75% off! They're prices are way too high for me.
Blessings,
Betsy

Great idea to get a head start on Christmas shopping, especially if the items are on sale. I"ve been searching for a knitting pattern for some yarn I bought in BC, haven't found one yet, so will keep looking.

You'll be so pleased when Christmas comes and you have it all organised. I haven't started yet but I'm thinking about it because for sure everything is cheaper now than it will be later.
Your room is coming on nicely.

Nice to have a heads up on Christmas shopping. I am not there yet but will begin before too long. There is just some crime against nature to even think about Christmas gifts when it is almost 100 with 70 percent humidity and not a cloud in the sky.

I should make it a point to go buy at least one Christmas present...then maybe I would get motivated to get some shopping done.

The twig thing is interesting...this reminds me of years a go, I had wicker type vase that had these type of twigs in it.

The reading sounds interesting..

Gotta love those summer sales! I buy presents for people whenever I spot something I think that they'd like, even if it's months ahead of time!

I'm intrigued by the second book. Hee!
