{{{SIGH}}} {{{SIGH}}} {{{SIGH}}}

Friday I cancelled the Toronto Star newspaper.  I am fed up to the back teeth of fighting on with them every three months having to negotiate a discount with them.  Why not give me the best price from the beginning.  Last three months I got a 30% discount, next three months it will be a 20% discount and the following three months it would only be a 10% discount.  I am not that desperate to read the paper, and figured that by the Fall they will be on the phone offering me a big discount after three months of not having the paper.

Bell Canada is no better but I have very few alternatives with those services, due to where we live, so have to put up with it, and luckily I only have to "negotiate" with them once a year, and then spend the next three months sorting out the mess they made!!!  LOL

Then there is my car.  Called them on Friday lunch time and they said they had reprogrammed the computer and it was fine.  Told them I would pick it up around 4pm.  Got a call at 3pm and when they tried to start it it wouldn't start {{{SIGH}}}

Told them I need a loaner car as this is crazy, so picking one up on Saturday.  Went in to talk to them about this, as we are really frightened that once the warranty is over and we still have problems what then?  Also with a normal car repair it's black and white; you take your car in the garage repairs it, and you take it home.

In my case, it's proving to be a problem repairing my car.  How long do we fight on with this before something is done?  Will say I have Googled Ford Fiesta and the transmission seems to be a HUGE problem with them, which is also frightening me.

On a more positive note, the new lawn tractor works like a charm.  Loving the power steering, makes life so much easier and the bigger cutting deck makes cutting the grass faster.

Because you have had the car at the mechanics thr is a record of the issues so it should still be covered, but I can't guarantee. You know how these companies are.
See if you can read the paper online. I read papers from all over the world on the net.

I'll keep my fingers crossed that it will all work out in the end. :)

I don't understand why companies keep bumping you up in price if they want to keep you either! We had ROGERS pull that on us too, and it drives me crazy! When our contract is up in December, we'll definitely be searching for our services elsewhere!!

Glad your lawn tractor is working well! :)

Are you at a Ford dealership garage? Maybe that would be the next step since they are supposed to be 'all knowledgeable' about their own products. They would also be the ones to start making 'I want a replacement car' noises with. Just to get them thinking that way. If you are still under warranty, make sure they fix or repair it properly.

We have the car at the Ford dealership where we bought it, so yes in theory they should know what to do, in practice, no they don't!!

When Hubs retired we examined all of our unnecessary expenditures and the newspaper was one. We kept it for a while and then, after realizing that the recycling bin was full of unopened papers we cancelled. They sucked us back in but after this go -- no more. If your car is at the dealership, they should know about all recalls and such and they should be able to figure out what is wrong. I hope they sort it out soon.

I know what you mean about Bell .... nuff said.
You don't want to hear this ......
My dd1 has a Kia, it was at the dealership for five (5) months, the wrong computer part was sent from overseas eleven (11) times!!! While on the dealers lot, it was covered in snow all Winter, the back bumper was damaged by the snow removal company, the brakes seized up, and all four tires went flat. The warrantee was voided as she did not have a scheduled oil change. Paid five monthly payments and insurance on a car she could not use. She had a loaner but that Company insisted they report in every two weeks. A nightmare.
Hope you have better luck than she did.

I'm shocked out publication cost. I was going to pick up a canning magazine because the front cover...had said there were Pie filling..Looked inside one recipe I found. Maybe there more but I wasn't going to risk ten bucks.

What a time you are having with everything...I hope things work out with the car. We have had good ford trucks and we have had bad ones. Roger had a Ranger that we absolutely loved...but had a F100 that no one could figure out its problems. there was always something with it. And the paint just peeled off it...started before it was a year old. After it was two or three years old, Ford was forced to repaint a lot of them from the 1987 year.

Now, any time we are in the market, I almost always go with Toyota...but also look at consumer reports Car edition.

Hotel Stay - Dinner
