It's surprising what I can fit in my car.....

Here is the chair out of the car:

Paid $48 (around 30 British Pounds) for it at the charity shop I go to in Stayner.  I had the second winning bid on some Cornflower glass pieces, so went to pick them up.  However when I saw the pieces I decided to pass, they were not as old as I thought.  I had seen this chair the other week I was in and it had been over $80 and each week they reduce the price.  So I figured for $48 I couldn't go wrong.  It needs a good clean, but overall it's in good condition.

I love the town of Stayner everyone is so friendly and very willing to help you.  It has a small town feel about it which I love.  I could see ourselves living there; the weather sucks there in the winter though.

This week's "Home of the Week," is nice, don't love it, but don't hate it.  It's missing something, not sure what?  Does anyone else feel that way?  I do like the art work above the fireplace in the living room and master bedroom, so if I did love it and have the $1 million to buy it I would ask for that artwork with the house!!!

The "Condo of the Week," is very nice if you like living 38 floors up in the sky, and have $1.3 million spare to pay for it, and can afford the nearly $3,000 a month maintenance fees!  You will need buy a pair of fluffy slippers as there are only tile and wood floors in the place, so it will be cold in winter, unless they have under floor heating throughout the place?  The views from the windows must be great, just a shame I am afraid of heights!

I am posting a link to an old post, as I made Dulche de Leche overnight in the crockpot.

What a hoot.Small cars are deceptive when it comes to fitting stuff in. I'm glad you didn't come across a grand piano! The chair is a great find, looks like a nice reading chair. I looked at House of the week. It's nice, but to me it lacks a "cosy" feeling.I guess I like smaller abodes.

Love the chair but it appears your car could not digest it all. B

Great find Gill...LOVE the chair! Stayner is a really cute small town, have you been to Stratford? It is one of my very favourites.

That Oakville home is missing "charm" and "warmth" in my opinion, it looks too staged...not homey and lived in. But that's how things sell these days.

Have a wonderful weekend! xx

The house of the week seems bland...and a bit confused..oriental style in some rooms...French provincial in others.

The storage space in those small cars is quite large considering. Love the chair.

That chair is a very nice find, good for you!

I've been playing catch up with your blog and I was so very, very sad to read about Molly's passing. I ended up crying in front of my computer screen right here in my office :o( I hope the void is beginning to fill, but it never does fully go away. I still get teary thinking about some of my pets who are waiting for me at the Rainbow bridge. I have four waiting there so far and one of my mother's dogs who will be very happy to see me as well.

Great buy on the chair. I actually liked both the home and the condo...for once the condo did not seem so sterile. I think the home might be missing that lived in look...throw a few magazines around, and a quilt over a couch...give it some life.

Love the chair! Furniture in that style instantly warms up the room!

That is an awful lot of house, and no thank you, I don't want my bathtub IN the bedroom. My husband is a lark and I'm an owl, so I need a door between him sleeping and me bathing.

nice chair - are you starting an old folks home ?
as for your car next time you are out shopping - stay out of the 'tat' shops and find a nice hardware shop - buy a nice bucket and a nice sponge instead .

Love the chair, i had a very similar one years ago, can't remember what happened to it!.

Both houses are lacking something for me, they both have a hotel feel, i prefer something more homely, although the condo has a great view!

Have a good weekend

I love the chair, and I am also amazed at what we can get into my husbands car too--I think a little bit of determination goes a long way!!
