I had a question for all you flower lovers. What do I do with the bulbs when they have finished flowering? I am in Southern Ontario, Canada, which I think is a Zone 5.

Love your big, friendly amaryllis! It's a bit overcast here, too. But yesterday sure looked and felt like spring.
Such a gorgeous color! Here we leave the bulbs in the ground but I imagine you need to dig yours up. Hopefully someone else can help you.
What lovely photos of the amaryllis.
Nice colours.
Have a nice evening

Don't matter if the lighting is not the best - your Amaryllis is still beautiful! Love the last pic!
But - I do not know the answer to your question! Have to admit I throw the plant when the flowers are gone. I guess someone can tell me that is a stupid thing to do!
Wow, those are beautiful. I wouldn't go just by what I say because I'm no pro but I recall reading that you wait until the leaves have died on them then you did them out, wrap them up and store them in a dark, dry area until the next season. I think it might depend on where you live and I'm sure that's probably for the bulbs in your yard.
Because yours are in a pot you can probably just store them until next season. I would do a Google search.
Beautiful pictures of beautiful flowers..
-Cheers Gisela.
Beautiful color! And, so many blooms on that one stem. You got a bargain on that bulb.

This piece is written for upstate New York, which is not too far away from you, and has some good tips. I hope you find it helpful.
Gorgeous amaryllis! Love the color of pink. Your new home looks gorgeous too!
The second shot reveals a beautiful delicacy.
These are one of my top ten flowers, I love them. The photos are great, Margaret
Beautiful flowers!
Those are beautiful, but i have no idea about what to do with it, yrs ago someone told me to put it in a closet till the following yr. but maybe that was on another plant.
A very well grown and most beutiful Amarillis, also nicely photographed.
Ilove the color of your plant.
As for what to do with it after its flowers are over-I hate the word dead- you must leave the plant run dry and then dig out the bulbs. Then keep them somewhere dry until you pot them next year.

Such a big happy flower!
Gill: What a pretty pink flower to show.
Lovely! Thanks for sharing.
This is a very nice colour. Mine are growing in the garden. So, I am not really familiar how to store bulbs in pots. There is a lot of information around on the internet. It will also tell you how to rebloom your bulb and how to feed it. Good luck.
I don't know why I have never bought myself an amaryllis...they remind me of my mom cause she had them. Yours sure are beautiful.
Amarilis is a beautiful flower and you take very nice photos.
About what to do with the bulbs after flowering, I can say that they will give you a lot of news bulbs and you can have many other flower in the next year.
Let the plant die down and then place in a cool dark place until next season. Don't forget they are there and don't water them. They'll bloom over and over again this way.
Nice colors.
Exquisite flowers.
A beautiful image! I love the details that can be seen on the petals. Really pretty.
Congrats on the house sale!
My post this week is on my photoblog: Carletta’s Captures.
Love the pink shade! I think that you cut back (like tulips)and then keep bulbs dormant until next Xmas..seems strange to read.."southern Ontario" when that's my home as I blog and vacation from sunny Arizona!
Hope you see sunny skies frequently now! hugs NG
Lovely pics...
Thanks for sharing...
I love the way you can see the texture of the leaves!! And I have to admit, that I snooped at the answers to your question about what to do when the plant goes dormant. I have two (onr belongs to a frind with limited space) that I need to do something with.
Oh, and I love the colour, too!
Hi Gill
Wonderful flowers and colors!
Great series of photos.
Thanks!
Luiz
Those are really beautiful!!
Great flower beautiful colour too. I remember once I placed the dry bulbs in some woodchips til it was time to replant. Happy to see that your home sold and your new one looks wonderful. Is it far in the country?
Beautiful~ Looking perfect in celebration International's Woman Day!! :)
Oh those Amaryllis are beautiful. I especially love the color. So pastel and soft. Lovely! Come and see my Adenium.
I love Amaryllis. They are a real show. I have them in the garden, and the big bulb makes little bulbs, which I sometimes taken out and divide, to plant again, especially to make borders. Here in the sub-tropics the leaves die back in late autumn and the bulb stays in the soil until next spring, when new leaves emerge from the bulb.
i like the color of the flowers, it's so beautiful!
It's really sweet one, nice pic too:)
