Today's Flowers.......
Today's Flowers were taken back in September 2006, when we went to visit the Biltmore Estate in Asheville, North Carolina. The photos below were taken in or in front of the Conservatory. The last photo, is the flower that is either side of the entry doors to the conservatory. I am sorry I do not know the name of the flowers. It you get a chance the estate is well worth a visit. There is a lot to see and it will take you all day to see things. I wouldn't mind going again some day.

Everything here is under a blanket of white. It's nice to look at flowers. The Biltmore Estate is beautiful.

I think the last flower is called the 'Trumpet' flower. I looked up my gardening encyclopaedia but all I could find was the yellow trumpet which was different. Anyway it looks like a trumpet.
We haven't been there in a while. The first time we went there, our youngest was about five years old. We couldn't get over how huge the place is. They've added a lot more things to see now. She was so afraid of the big bear rugs they had in the large dining room that myself and the guard could not convince her to step into the room.
Another daughter went there a few years ago and she said they have added some stores or something like that on the grounds for tourist to see and shop in.
I would never be close enough to visit this estate so I thank you for posting in TF!
Lovely tropicals. The name is Datura or Angels Trumpet. The name is so appropriate as they also have an heavenly scent.

Always lovely to see flowers at this time of the year - the gardens are a bit sparse. Plenty of bulbs on the way though - roll on spring. A x

I love Biltmore, Gill. Glad you have visited there. It is definitely a beautiful area. In fact, that entire area around Asheville is gorgeous.

The last one is an Angel Trumpet, they are so pretty.
Gill, wonderful flowers! I don't know the names of the flowers either, because we haven't got them in my country. But they are very beautiful!
Beautiful, those pink flowers are wonderful. I do believe the last hanging flower is some kind of datura, angel trumpet. It often smells divine.

The last one is my favorite! I saw the same flowers in Atlanta and in DC...can't remember their name though.
