Today's Flower

My lovely neighbour gave us a beautiful bunch of flowers on Monday (29th), I wonder how long they will last? I love the reflection in the mirror.

I love carnations and tried to grow them a couple of times. Those are really pretty and a great shade of pink.

I love carnation pink! So sweet of your neighbor!

Carnations are such happy flowers. You can make them last longer by changing their water every day, and trimming the ends of the stems 1/8 inch every three days.

Enjoy them and your wonderful neighbor.

They are beautiful. Carnations seem to last a long time, if you put fresh water on them every day.

I wonder what nice things you do for your neighbous that you get such a lovely gift. You certainly get double the enjoyment with the mirror behind them.
If you remove spent blooms, add a little flower fresh to the water, and keep the stems clear of slime, (it helps to remove all the lower leaves), and occasionally as you change the water cut the emds of the stems off, they could last up to two weeks.

Hello :-) Strawberry Jam Anne sent me a personal recommendation to visit your blog. Glad she did, I love it. And what a treat to see the carnations. They're a real child-hood memory as one of my mother's favourites. Happy New Year. I look forward to visiting more often. :-D
