Had an interesting but cold day downtown Toronto....

went with dd downtown Toronto to the Queen and Spadina area as I wanted to look at some fabric stores down there, and look for some trim/notions.

We took the subway down and walked along Queen Street. One landmark we had to pass was Much Music. Here are some photos of there. Now they did have a sign on the sidewalk saying that some girl was going to be there and a tv camera, and a bright light there. However I had never heard of her and neither had dd, so we walked on, plus it was too cold to hang around anyhow.

One of the "attractions" is that they have a car smashed into the wall, here is the photo, try not to be too excited about it all!!

We had lunch at a Restaurant called "Peter Pan," which is on Queen and Peter Street. I must say despite the wait it was really good. I had a pizza and it was very tasty. Sorry about the quality of the photo, it was too cold to fiddle on trying to take the perfect shot.

This shot I took as we were walking across the street, it turned out pretty well I thought.

These poor pigeons were sitting on a doorstep, look how fluffed up they are.

I then ran out of battery on my camera.......it's always the way!!

By the way, I didn't buy as much as I would have liked, as there wasn't much I was looking for, however I'll post more on my adventures in Toronto another day.

Very nice pictures. Looking forward to see your good purchases.
Why is the last picture, the pigeons, reminds me of Centrepoint in London? Do you remember it?
Poor old, cold pigeons!!!

I'm amazed your pictures weren't jiggling around due to shiver factor. It has to be brutal there with winter winds whipping. I love Toronto-in summer.

Thanks for the photos they're lovely. It's a wonder the camera works in the freezing cold. Poor little things, you feel so sorry for them even though lots of people don't like them.

You're so lucky having decent fabric shops. There are hardly any where we live now. I used to spend hours in Bainbridges, Fenwicks and Binns when they used to stock a great selection of fabrics. Now it would take 2 minutes to see they don't have anything you want and what they have are ridiculous prices.

If I ever get to Canada or the USA I'm going fabric hunting and I'll leave my husband behind.

I love that area of Toronto. You were braver than I would have been to shop on such a cold day so close to the lake. Brrrrrrrrrr!!!!!

we are thinking of going up to the market in TO on Sat. and maybe go thru the Path (to keep warm). But I don't know if I want to freeze my assets off :-((.

re my blog and your comment,
I assigned you a letter of the alphabet and you have to write 10 things you love beginning with that letter, and then do the same to people who leave a comment on your blog. (the rules are on my blog)
I will assign you the letter "W".
feel free not to do it if you don't want. i know we get lots of memes but it always fill in a blank day.
:-))

Hi there, I'm catching up on my blog reading this week, missed ya! After the last few months of looking at Canada through your blog of pictures, I've put it on my list of places to travel in my lifetime, if able to! It all looks lovely!

Thanks for the tour. I assume there is a reason for the car coming through the wall, but I couldn't think of one.

Hi Gill, I've seen your name mentioned at scrappy quilters *VBS* Thank you for dropping by at one of my blogs today and leaving such a nice comment. I had to pop over and say "hi" and check out your string blocks.
I scrolled down and they are just beautiful...very radiant colors with the gold browns and the deeper rose or red in there. You are doing a great job.
The photos of Toronto are just lovely..sounds like a wonderful day! Hugs, Finn

Thanks Gill for the 'tour' of Toronto.. We saw that city at a distance from the Buffalo area. That's as close as I have gotten.

Hugs,
