One week down......

Been at work all week, well except on Wednesday when we had the latest snow storm (SIGH)

It was an interesting week with one thing and another.  On Monday on the way home I was caught speeding, and ended up with a $52.50 speeding ticket, with no points. ((SIGH))  Lucked out though as I was doing 99.9 km an hour in a 60 km zone, in the middle of no where I may add, so I got off lightly.  Probably because despite me having a lead foot, this is the only second  speeding ticket I have had in Canada.  So for the rest of the week I have been driving like "Miss Daisy."

Work got easier as the week progressed.  I will admit to being really tired on Monday and Tuesday.  Probably because I was having to make parts of my brain work that hasn't been used for a while...LOL  The work I do is everything and anything in the office.  It mainly consists of answering the phone; 4 lines, accounts payable, accounts receivable, invoicing, collections (which I enjoy) and anything else that has to be done.

It's nice to talk to customers I have known for years, as this was my job before I "retired," so I know it well.  Of course lots have changed over the years, so there is always something new to learn or remember.  It's a full hour of travelling there and a full hour back, which sucks.  The place is so close to the airport that the planes fly over the building regularly.  You actually don't really notice the planes after a while...LOL  I work from 9 am until 3 pm which is great hours.  I find the time goes by so fast and I barely have time to eat, which may be a good thing.

My treat though is I have a hot chocolate in my travel mug on the way home from work everyday.  It satisfies my craving for chocolate, so that's good.

I am missing being at home.  The only thing I am keeping up with is the laundry.  With doing that batch cooking last weekend, it means that supper is a quick fix, but I have found once supper is over I sit down for the night and that's it.  So this weekend is going to be busy and will no doubt fly by.

Things should get back to normal after next week.  Our little Princess  mom has sent me some lovely photos of her, so I will hopefully share them with you over the weekend, as she is growing so fast.

Hi Gill, I once had a ticket on the navy base going 20 miles an hour in a 15 mph zone, I kid you not. It will be lovely to see pictures of the baby. Hope next week will go well, with no more speeding tickets ;)

Have you returned to work or just filling in for people on leave?

Is this a temporary job Gill? Are you filling in for someone? It's amazing how soon we get out of the habit of going to work, isn't it!

It sounds like you enjoyed the working thing and the housework will wait it always does. Have a nice weekend. Can't wait to see more baby pics. B

When I got my ticket, they took points too. :(
Work is hard on one's housekeeping duties. We don't have the energy we once we had. Glad you are enjoying your job!

You were in my thoughts yesterday. Ha ! my Crabby Cabbie got the same fine last week as you $52.00 for the same driving infraction, darn it all. Thank goodness Batch cooking is such a life saver.

It's a pain to work hard for your money and then lose it in a speeding ticket. Watch that foot, you don't want to hit any 'black ice'. Have a relaxing weekend. Bess

So sorry about the ticket but very lucky you didn't get any points. I have been remarkably lucky in my life and never been caught for anything. I shouldn't have said that should I!

Work does make the week go by faster! I do not envy you that commute though! I used to have to do an hour and a half back and forth by public transit, which is why I moved into town! Now my motto is 'Never again!!!' as in never again will I live in the suburbs, at least not while I have to work!

Well, getting the ticket is a bummer but it could have been worse. Your commute is about the same as mine to babysit everyday except yesterday it took me an hour and forty five minutes to drive what usually takes forty-five. I get really tired and while you would think it is the two year old wearing me out -- I think it is the driving!

Sounds like the police needed to fill their quota in your area last week!

Tuesday was a mixed bag type of day. Had the appliance repair guy come again to install another circuit board in the fridge.  When hubby got...
