I'm still alive.......

and I am down to my last day of work on Friday.  It's surprising how you get into a routine, but I am still tired and other than making supper and keeping up with laundry that's about all that's getting done.

Work wise things have come back to me and it's been nice to catch up with everyone.  Oh and it turns out if you're in a grumpy mood you can collect more money...LOL  I have been busy chasing up people to pay their invoices and have enjoyed every bit of it despite my feet!

However I am hobbling around like an old woman as my poor feet are killing me especially my right one.  I have a case of plantar fasciitis and it bloody well hurts.  My feet have been bothering me for a couple of weeks and I have been wearing my crocs in work; but today it took a turn for the worse and it is very, very painful.

It must be sore as I have a full day planned of being out and about on Saturday and am thinking of cancelling that and putting my feet up to rest them.............so yes for me to turn down a day out it has to be bad.

I am continuing to drive like Miss Daisy and haven't had any more incidents with my friends the police!!  The weather has been nice all week which has made the commute a lot easier.  It turns out it is costing me around $10 a day in gas for the car.  I get gas down the road from us as it is around 3 cents cheaper a litre than in the city.

I am seeing signs of Spring in the city with lots of Canada Geese flying around.  Meanwhile here at home there is still lots of snow and the driveway is still like a skating rink!!!

Got a couple of busy weeks ahead of me, with a number of things planned to do around the house, including finishing the baby quilt.  The top is sewn just have to sandwich it together and quilt it.  Have a couple of chairs to recover, and I would like to get the stairs varnished this month also.

Hoping to get back into routine of blogging and visiting everyone's blogs again next week.

I sympathise with you on plantar faciitis, been there and done that! I get it in the summer time when I wear thongs (flip flops) or slide on sandals. Once winter comes and I am in closed toe shoes (with arch support) it goes again. I found soaking in a warm bowl of water with epsom salts helped a bit and definitely wearing good shoes. I hope its better soon (probably will abate when you finish up work).

Cheers - Joolz

Has been snowing here. I still am having problems with my foot from that; wear really good shoes, or do you need, if you do not have, orthotics, Gill. Did the Sandi Richard interview Tuesday if you were interested pop by for the read when you get caught up from all this work you have been subject to.

I hope it gets better for you . I have never had it but it sounds very painful . It is showing signs of spring here as the buds on the trees and bushes are visible and the Canadian Geese here are making their spring fly around as well and other birds are singing and chatting up their spring songs ! It has been mild with some rain a bit of wet snow falling and sun every now and then ! March can be a tricky month though ! Have a good evening !

Oh, I feel your pain -- your heel pain, that is. I had a bad case of plantar fasciitis a couple of years back and now I have had a flare up which has been hurting me for over two months. I have found that just putting your feet up doesn't really help. I wear crocs, too. They are the only thing that help.

I know the pain you are talking about!! Have you had your foot checked for bone spurs? OUCH!!! My dr wants me only in good tennis shoes along with heel inserts. First thing in the AM the shoes go on and don't come off until I get in bed at night, but still some days it catches up with me. Take care of you!!!

Hi
I have been reading your blog for awhile now and really enjoy it
The best thing you could for your plantar facitis is to get acupuncture on it. Believe me it works usually after just one treatment.
There is a good naturopth in Fergus that helped me out.

I have had the same foot pain and my Dr. advises, anti-inflamatories, stay off your feet and ice it down. You need to reduce the inflamation. Lots of luck......Bess

What a horrible thing to have - I'm so sorry. Feet are rather fundamental so you must be going through hell. Hope they get better soon Gill. x

my therapist goes against the grain when it comes to healing PF..

my last flare up of planters faciitis was Jan 2012.. I had ultrasound treatments on it, and my therapist recommended going barefoot (around the house), or at least slippers with no heels or much padding on the soles..before going to see her, I was wearing crocs in the house, and the pain wasn't subsiding at all..

and for outdoor footwear, during spring/summer/fall months, I wear Merill Pace Gloves (really close to going barefoot outdoors.. I can feel the gravel/pebbles along the trails in the bush)

she told me to look for what is called "minimalist" footwear.. really thin soles.. and little to no "heal drop"

she explained that it goes against logic to go barefoot whenever possible to help with PF, but it actually makes sense.... she says that when you go barefoot, you are strengthening the muscles, and using them the way they are made to work (instead of being cushioned all the time).. but talk that over with your doctor/therapist

two things that helped ease the pain when it first flared up, was 1)filling a 500 ml coke bottle with water and freezing it.. then rolling that back and forth under my foot for about 5 minutes at a time(massages the muscles).. 2) trying to pick up a facecloth from the floor, with my toes (exercises the muscles)

Ouch, I have that foot complaint too. I wear lined crocs at home, and have arch inserts for my shoes. Free thanks to our wonderful NHS. I have just bought some FlyFlot summer shoes, recommended by a friend who also has Plantar. I believe FitFlops are good. Hope you find some relief.

Glad you've had a good week at work - they must have appreciated any grumpiness you brought with you! I hope you feel better soon - you now owe yourself a day out!
