New Years Day - time to get back to normal.........

By that I mean take down all the Christmas decorations and move everything back to it's original place.  I really need to have a clean out of Christmas decorations as I don't use a number of them, but am not sure what to do with them?  Who buys Christmas decorations?

I also cleaned out our medicine cabinet and now have a bag full of medications that are out dated.  I will drop them off at our pharmacy next time I am passing and they will dispose of them safely.

I also put up our new calendar in the kitchen and transferred all the important dates from one calendar to the other.

A couple of weeks ago a friend was cleaning out her china cabinet and gave me a couple of her vases.  Neither are that old but are lovely and will remind me of her forever.

Had hoped to have a no spend day on Sunday as I never left the house all day, but ended up spending $5 on shipping and handling on a magazine subscription I paid for earlier on in December.

I ended up getting a two year subscription for Canadian Living for $24 plus $5 shipping.

If those vases are pre-1950's coloured glassware than they would be quite valuable - worth looking for makers marks and working out what era they are from to get an idea of value!

They are gorgeous looking pieces.

Our old Christmas decoratations go to St vincent de Paul 'Op-shop'!

Those vases are pretty, do you collect that particular glass, Gill? The place will feel so empty after the decorations are put away, but you will find it easier to dust again, that's for sure.
Maybe you could do a decoration swap next year.

Yes, I guess I'd better get cracking and remove the signs of Christmas. I took a lot of Christmas ornaments and a tree to the local charity shop.... they were really grateful. I hope someone deserving got them.

Our church bazaar has a "Christmas the Second Time Around" table where we sell gently used items. It helps as a fundraiser. Those vases are beautiful.

I have the same vase as your top one only in milk glass! Mine is small and I love it. I would suggest you ebay your ornies. I need to do the same with my ornaments only the ones I need to get rid of aren't worth the time and trouble!

Happy New Year friend. You'd be surprised who buys Christmas ornaments at thrift stores. They were going like hotcakes here. I have to do my calender today too. Hugs
