Wedding Photos and challenges.....

I was asked yesterday for a photo of me in my dress for the wedding. Dd does not want her photo on my blog, so I cropped her out of the photo.  I was pretty impressed with myself that I was able to do that.  Oh and the dress now is just above knee length as I had it shortened.

This was the room that dd and hubby got married in. At first I wasn't sure if it would be fine, but when it was all decorated it looked lovely:

Carla over at 1/2 Dozen Daily is having two challenges for the month of February, a "Low (no) spend Challenge" and a "Decluttering Challenge."  So I thought I'd get a jump start on it.  Now what has that got to do with the photo below?
126
In our living room since after the wedding has been the 8 stands you see in the photo with the flowers hanging off of them. I don't particularly want them, neither does dd.  All the pots with the flowers in them, people took the night of the wedding.  So I posted them on Kijiji on Tuesday, along with the aisle runner dd bought, monogrammed and then decided not to use.  There is still 21 usable feet of aisle runner, so someone may find it useful.

By the way the stands were from Michael's and were black.  Dd spray painted them cream then over sprayed them with a stone effect paint.  The containers that the flowers were in are from Ikea.  The florist did the arrangements.

That is part of the decluttering challenge.  I feel I will have no problem completing that challenge.  If you want to join up, just pop over and sign up for it.

**There will be a recipe on tomorrow's post.**

Gill, you look lovely in the dress. Just gorgeous. Shame that your daughter didn't want her picture on your blog - I would have loved to see her in her wedding dress. Good luck with the decluttering challenge.

cheers, Kaye xoxox

Your dress is lovely and I adore the way the chairs were dressed for the wedding.

Lovely photo of you, I really love what you had done with your hair on the day. Surely those stands would hold a hanging basket and you could put them outside in the summer on your verandah!

Hi Gill, thanks for leaving a comment regarding slow cooking on my blog and yes I would be glad to get a copy of your slow cooking recipes.

Love your dress by the way and the colour is lovely.

I'm re-starting decluttering again from today. I aim to get at least a bin bag full minimum per week. that way if I get more done it will be a bonus.

I also started yesterday a sealed pot challenge. I aim to put any £2 coins I get into the pot. Haven't decided exactly what it's for yet but think it might be for a mini break at least 6 months away as we haven't had a holiday in years.

Gill you look lovely. Well done for re-using the dress! I also love the flower stands. Great idea and sure to be snapped up on kijiji.

That dress really suits you. Of course now we want to see what it looks like, since it's been shortened?
Amazing how different a room looks once its been decorated. Aren't they clever with the chair decorations.
Those stands are gorgeous and look wonderful with the flower buckets in. I hope you get a good price for them.

The colour of the dress you wore looks so perfect got you! And what a great choice since you shortened it as well.

I will have to check out the challenges. I LOVE Kijiji. Last fall we sold some stuff that had been languishing in our garage so we could fit the car in for the winter. What a nice feeling when the stuff was GONE!

I did some decluttering a couple of weeks ago but I still have a way to go!! :))

You do look lovely in your dress. And the whole decor is beautiful. I love Kijiji. I have been decluttering my folks home of 48 years and putting it on Kijiji. One has to be patient at times, but weekly I sell something for them and I feel the house rise one more cm!

Gill, you look lovely, such a gorgeous colour. I can see why you would want to wear it again in a short version.
I am still trying to sort out my garage, its way past the time to get some of the tools and stuff sorted.
Just wish I knew what a lot of it is used for.
I did sell a couple of items on Kijiji recently and also hope to have a garage sale in the Spring for the smaller stuff.

Gill, a couple of things...
The photos are great, love seeing wedding photos!! You look great and good idea shortening the dress.

I have been decluttering for the last year and will continue doing it daily. Are you going to keep a running list of the items?

I have to start putting stuff on Kijiji or Craig's List. Tried once and the people drove me nuts!!

You had dropped by and mentioned you might read the book A Darker Domain because of the miners. I found a really good book just about the miners' strike of 84 by David Peace called GB84 http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/277875.Gb84
