Home and Condo of the week and planning my grocery list

Well this week's "Home of the Week," is well.........um.....I actually don't know how to describe it.....I know a few boxes on stilts.  I actually could probably afford this one, which is a first, but never in a month of Sunday's would I buy it.  How on earth it got planning permission is beyond me for one thing.  Also it says a couple with two kids want to buy it.  Any ideas where the two kids will be sleeping?  As always read the comments, always an eye opener!!

The "Condo of the Week," as always over priced.  First the good points, just love the terrace, I mean look at the views.  That photo at night with the CN Tower lit up was rather neat.  Now the negative points.  Who in their right minds wants a shower two feet from their bed?  Also when I go to the bathroom I like privacy, don't you?  The kitchen is an accident waiting to happen with that step; why would you put a step in the kitchen in the first place?  The living room reminds me of a bowling alley; it is not decorated for people to live in, it rather reminds me of a very upmarket doctors waiting room?  Think I'll pass on this one as well.

The flyers came on Thursday, so I looked through them to plan my grocery shopping trip this week.  It's going to be on Monday as I want to take part in the bonus points deal at Shopper's Drug Mart that they are having Monday through Friday of next week.  If you spend $50 BEFORE COUPONS you get a bonus of 8,000 points.  My total before taxes and coupons is close to $51.  After taxes and coupons it will be $37.85 or there abouts.

I will be getting us new tooth brushes, toothpaste for dh, and deodorant for dh, plus a number of other things.  They have eggs also on sale for $1.88 a dozen on Sunday and Monday, so make sure you use your $1 off coupon.  Milk is also cheaper for me there at $4.19 a 4 litre bag.

The other place I am going is the dreaded Wal-Mart as I can price match other stores there and it's reasonably close to Shopper's, so have a list of things I want to get.  I am just hoping they will have everything in stock on Monday morning; I'm not counting on it though!!!

Who on earth would buy the house on stilts???? Love the condo - kinky bathroom and all!

Planning my shopping list has taken up rather a lot of time this week! Good luck with yours.

I love to plan my shopping, makes me feel like just maybe I can beat the stores at their own game!! I don't do any grocery shopping at Walmart for the same reason that they may or may not be stocked up. Our Walmart is not close to our home so it's a waste of gas and time. Good luck on your shopping!!

Loving your thrifty posts, Gill. Giving me all kinds of ideas... :)

The house on stilts looks as though it has been made/furnished using all recycled products...that's the nicest thing I can say about it.

My daughter always price matches at Walmart...here the time they always seem to be out of stuff is on the weekend. I think it gets hit harder...so I avoid going on the weekend if at all possible.

I'm actually loving the house on stilts, apart from the kitchen which is smaller than my current one. I never thought I would say that. Otherwise, I think it's pretty groovy. I could make a pretty neat outdoor cat play area by enclosing the area around the stilts with a solid metal cage.

I too have to stop at Walmart today *shudder*. I'm looking for a mattress pad and it's likely they'll be the cheapest place to get it here.

You seem to do better with coupons and voucher than we do. The ones that we get are usually for things that we do not buy or if they are for something that I would buy, it is out of stock.

Not to keen on either of those places. I'd rather have a cabin in the woods. I was in Shoppers Food Warehouse (is that the same as yours?) and bought the best radishes we've ever eaten.

Good to know about the Shopper's Points next week. Soemone took all my flyers (or I didn't get them) so I had no idea, and I need a few items from there too.

Also planning my shopping for next month.

Hoping to keep it under £40!

Got lots in the freezer.

I love your home and condo posts. I quite like the interior of the weird home but couldn't handle the outside, and the condo bathroom is the same as one we had an hotel in Toronto. don't get that! LOL

This house is close by to ours in Toronto. Just plain weird. We were just talking about it with our contractor and he was saying how ugly it is.

What a wild house! I'm always amazed by huge differences from an exterior to interior -- but no closets!? What?! How can one live without closets?! And the garage door windows...huh! lol I had to send the link to lovely listings, which makes fun of unusual real estate listings. Maybe they'll feature it on there. FYI it's at: http://lovelylisting.icanhascheezburger.com/ Good for a few laughs on a lazy day (do you have those?) ;)

Tuesday was a mixed bag type of day. Had the appliance repair guy come again to install another circuit board in the fridge.  When hubby got...
