Today's Flower

This week I am featuring my pot of African Violets. They are such pretty colours and I love the pot they are in. Should also mention they are fake!!!! They are a good quality fake and unless you get close up to them you wouldn't be able to tell. One things for sure I know I won't kill them!!

Well, they certainly won't die when you go on holidays.

My grandmother used to have African violets which we always unintentionally forgot to water when she was on holiday. We disappointed her many times...so I commend your choice :)

Oh Gill, and I was sitting here wondering what you do to grow such beautiful African Violets, LOL. I love these plants but have been so unsucessful. I see them in their glory at the garden centre but feel like a murderer if I bring them home. One day maybe.

Wouldn't think of trying to grow them. I've been known to kill cactus. That's one reason I'm working on compost and leaving the planting to DH. If only artificial squash would work in the casserole!

Sweet African Violets, so beautiful!

They don't look fake - great to use when you have nothing else to display. I went to a farmer's market yesterday and got a beautiful bunch of Lisanthus (not sure of spelling) for $4.00 and they are so lovely.

Even I might manage to keep one of those.

Hi, Gill! These are lovely African violets. I wouldn't notice, if you didn't tell. It also would be my kind of choice for indoors ;).

My mother-in-law could raise these and they were so pretty. She would give me one to start and within days it would be dead!
I love the blue and white bowl you chose to display them in - beautiful!

Happy Belated Birthday!
I was at my nephew's birthday yesterday. He turned 21!
I remarked to someone there that I had fewer years ahead of me than behind me. It's not being depressed as such but rather more matter of fact.

My Flower post is at Carletta’s Captures.

You have three different colours in the one pot. These delicate flowers suit the pretty blue pot.
